Mingyu was by the window, watching as the storm continued to rage on just outside of the boundaries of the dorm. His knee was still encased in plastic and fabric, painful every single time he tried to move, but nothing would be on the pain that he felt within his heart every time the minute hand moved on, taking the rapper further and further away from the last time he saw the only person he ever loved the cruel world he called home.
"Why are you here, Gyu?" Jeonghan asked softly, quietly walking over to the tallest, instantly putting a hand on his forehead. "You're burning up again."
"Cold." Mingyu hummed softly, running a hand over the familiar blanket.
"Yeah, because you've still got a fever Gyu. You're still sick. Come on, I'll get you some medication, it'll help you feel better." Jeonghan offered his outstretched hand, which Mingyu took, being led back into the kitchen where Seungcheol was already standing with a similar look of poorly concealed worry for the younger.
"He's burning up again, Cheol." Jeonghan explained before the leader could ask, even though it was clear from the rosy tint to the tops of Mingyu's cheeks and the weak wheeze from his chest that the other was really trying to ignore.
"It's time for another one of your antibiotics, Gyu." Seungcheol checked the clock and dug out the box of medication that was prescribed to help with Mingyu's pneumonia. "I know that you don't feel well enough to eat, but you really need to have a little bit of food so that the tablets don't make you feel sick."
Mingyu whimpered softly. He hated feeling so sick while also having grief to deal with, still feeling the ghost-like touches of someone once here. He sat himself down at the island, watching through hooded features of the familiar routine of Jeonghan preparing some rice and toast while Seungcheol sat next to him, acting as a fake replacement for the one that was lost. No one would be able to take his place.
"Try to eat as much as you can, okay? Then have the pills, they'll help you feel better." Jeonghan said as he handed the plate over with the small amount of food on it, letting the tallest member be as he and the leader went about their responsibilities for the evening.
It took ten minutes for Mingyu to feel the familiar pangs of uncomfortableness in his gut that meant that he wouldn't be able to eat much more, so he took his graces, downed the pills and some water and let himself relax into the chair, trying to forget that night.
Chan had been speeding down the highway as Mingyu wheezed, outstretched on the backseat of the youngest's car. He was freaking out, not knowing whether his boyfriend was going to make it through the night. Mingyu had gotten sick a week before and only seemed to go downhill, coming home from their schedules more and more congested and fatigued until eventually he gave himself the day off. Chan had come home to find Mingyu wheezing in the bathroom, hovering over his vomit, nearly passed out from the 41 degree fever that he was sporting. He threw his boyfriend into the car and pressed on the pedal, not caring about the confused stares of the other members, not knowing what faced them only 50 metres from the hospital.
Chan prayed to the god he didn't believe in for Mingyu's safe return as he turned onto the street that the hospital was located on, taking his eye off the road for a mere second to look up at the roof of the car, clearly not seeing the disaster destined to take place.
He was shunted out of his seat, the belt doing absolutely nothing for the force of the semi crashing into the car, sending the maknae flying out of the car and to his death, killed upon impact. Mingyu also flew, not as dangerously, into a nearby bush, being found by emergency workers who had to see the scene take place with no real ability to do anything other than wait for it to end. He was the lucky one. But he certainly didn't feel like it.

Just as a question, could someone tell me how you're able to do the italics on here? It has come up occasionally for me, but only like once in a blue moon when the site is playing ball with me, so any help would me much appreciated.
