The eight Ikrans flew through the tall trees as the wind blew past them. Making it hard to hear anything but the strong gusts that whistled past their ears, which meant they would have to rely on vocal calls to indicate anything to each other until they landed.

Zaytxe's eyes stopped looking at her surroundings the second she heard the leading girls' various yips and a long whistle as her and her Ikran dived down to land on the tree in front of the group. They all followed her and their Ikrans hung on the tree trunk as they all looked at her.

"This is where we need to be, now we just need a plan" She said, holding on to her Ikran to keep her balance. Everyone thought for a bit about how they would organise and make a plan to get the best outcome out of the mission and to be able to get the results.

"We could go in groups" Said her brother, he looked at the rest of the group, awaiting their response to his suggestion. They all nodded and started making groups of four. The two brothers teamed up with the same boy that had greeted Neteyam and Zaytxe when they first arrived to the group and also with another older boy that looked like he knew what he was doing. They were all probably friends outside of the group.

This left Zaytxe, Neteyam, Eupwe and the annoying boy. Great, Zaytxe could not wait to see the things he would say while they were on the ground.

"Time to head down then" Neteyam spoke, making everyone take their Ikran down, disjoin their queue and dismount their Ikrans. They would stay there waiting for them or would answer if their riders needed help. Zaytxe held Keo's head in affection while everyone got off of their Ikrans at their own speed. Once everyone was ready to inspect the ground she let go of Keo and joined her group of four people

"We'll go east you guys go west" Said the girl from the other group. "Come back here once the sun starts coming down, don't be late"

The other group all agreed and started walking towards their side of the jungle. The sun shined in between the branches of the trees as they walked in between the tall ferns that stood in their way. Their steps were quick and silent as they covered as much ground as they could. Any alteration or difference in the part of the forest near the Valley of Thanators might explain why the stray animal would have left.

"Are we ever going to find something or is this just going to go on forever?" Groaned none other than the impatient kid,  justifying why Zaytxe had mentally named him like that. "I mean, I know it's supposed to be a complicated mission but we're the best, right?"

"Good things don't come easy" Zaytxe answered while she inspected a stepped on Warbonnet Fern. "Eywa isn't just going to give us the answers to our questions without us working for it"

The boy didn't say anything else after Zaytxe's remark. Neteyam looked at Zaytxe and saw that she was looking at the fern with furrowed brows as she crouched down to get a better view. He walked toward her and touched her shoulder to get her attention. "What's with the fern?"
