What if Megatron lost his memory instead of Optimus?
Optimus was surprised, he was just about to offer up the Matrix of Leadership to protect the earth from Unicron when... when... Well, he's not entirely sure what happened, all he knew was that there was a mini explosion and now, there was no trace of Unicron. He shook his helm and looked around seeing his enemy on his hands and knees, quite clearly confused by what had just occurred as well. He turned around and looked at his team as they stood up, celebrating the win. He looked back to Megatron, transforming his servo into his blaster before walking towards his enemy. The prime thought about how this could be the only chance to finish the war as he approached the mech on the ground. Prime was taken by surprise as the mech before him looked up at him, the usual anger and hatred displayed across his face plate having disappeared. What shocked him, even more, was when the mech before him asked, "Where are we, Orion?" The prime stopped and looked at the mech in shock, hearing his team's chatters of confusion.
"Megatronus?" The prime asked confused. The mech on the floor looked around, beginning to look even more confused as he asked "What's going on Orion? Where are we? This doesn't look like Cybertron." The prime sighed as he thought to himself, whatever had happened had wiped the memory of the Warlord. "That would be because this isn't Cybertron, Megatronus," He transformed his blaster back into his servo and offered it to the other mech, who took it and stood up, before he continued " War broke out aeons ago, destroying our planet, you were put into stasis before we were forced to travel to this planet known as Earth," The Warlord looked shocked, "However, the Decepticons followed, wishing to gain a new planet to live." Megatronus shook his head, an upset look appearing on his face, "So Cybertron has been destroyed, Orion?"
The Prime nodded, "In simple terms, yes. Due to war, Cybertron is no longer capable of supporting our kind." Megatronus looked behind the Prime, tensing up before asking, "Are they... with you, Orion?" Optimus turned to look at his team before looking back at Megatronus and nodding. "Please stay here for a moment Megatronus, I need to tell my team that you shall be staying with us." Before the other mech could reply, the Prime started walking towards his team. "What the frag is going on Optimus?" Arcee asked as she scowled at the Warlord. "For some unknown reason, it appears that Megatron has lost his memories of the war and only remembers when he was Megatronus." The prime explained. "So what do we do boss bot?" Bulkhead asked. "Do we kill him while he doesn't expect it?" The wrecker asked. "No." Optimus didn't have to think about his answer. "We treat him like he's one of us, that way if his memories come back, he may be more open to the idea of ending the war." All of the team looked at him with hesitance, "What if he's just faking it to find out where the base is?" Bumblebee beeped. The prime sighed before looking at the mech away from the group, "We have to hope he's not." Arcee sighed before saying "As much as I hate the idea of a con coming into the base, I trust you Optimus." The Prime smiled before getting Arcee to tell Ratchet their coordinates for a ground bridge and walking back towards the Decepticon. "We're ground bridging to our base to avoid the Decepticons locating it." He turned to walk away but kept his optics on the other mech until he nodded and started following him. The ground bride opened in front of the group as they walked through, followed by Megatronus and the Prime.
