The man looked at him, as he closed his eyes, hoping for the best. Fortunately, luck was on his side and the man lowered his gun slightly. The man examined him before asking, "What's your name kid? I'm Jed". Jeds voice carried a city like accent, and his outfit consisted of a green hoodie and camo pants. Tyler looked at Jed, attempting to decide whether he should release his name, but he decided to considering Jed had a gun, "Tyler. My names Tyler". Jed nodded, clearly satisfied, and made his way past Tyler. Looking inside the room, he saw the dead creature, "Looks like you killed le Lurker". Tyler raised an eyebrow; asking, "Lurker?" Jed nodded, chuckling slightly, and continued, "Yes, le Lurker. We have to have a name for these damn things, so why not name it? It lurks the streets, lurks the fields, and now lurks most likely 90% of the Earth." Tyler nodded, looking at the blood stained walls, then averted his gaze to Jed asking "What's happened to this world?" Jed turned to Tyler, before his gaze shifted to the ground. His grip tightened around the handle of his pistol before he answered, "The worlds gone to hell....everyone who gets bit or dies turns into a Lurker. People you love die. You have to kill them or they just die on their own. It's a terrible process, die or get bit you turn, goodbye life. They can smell you, they can't see you, and there has been a few different ones I've ran into." Tyler frowned at that, asking "What do you mean different?" Jed sighed, leaning against one of the walls, arms crossed over his chest. Frowning slightly, "So far i've ran into two, Strong and weak. The stronger ones can push you down and hold you there til you get bit or scratched. Chest attacks don't work, the only thing you can do is destroy or penetrate their brain. Weaker ones are more common, they just lurk slowly which gives you an advantage." Tyler nodded, taking all this to mind.

Jed pushed off the wall and began to walk towards the front door, saying, "Well, we can't stay here the whole time. There are others, a camp, I was searching the houses here to find some supplies but didn't get real far, you coming?" Tyler thought for a moment, before nodding and muttering, "Wait". Stumbling into his parents room which was a few more doors down from him, he opened his parents closet and grabbed a bag. Taking out a bow and finding a few arrows wrapped up in a cloth. He put the four arrows he had and put them in a bag, throwing it over his back. He held the bow in his left grip and headed towards the front door to meet up with Jed. Looking outside, Tyler now just noticed the lack of activity. Jed looked down, suddenly releasing something about Tyler. Trying not to word it wrong, he asked, "Kid, where are your parents?" Tyler stayed silent at the question, seemingly unfazed and more stoic then ever, saying with a clear voice, "They died." Jed frowned in confusion before asking, "Who is your guardian then?" Tyler spoke again, but in a more irritant voice, "I don't have one". Jed shook his head, seeing the lie straight through Tylers face. Ignoring the eerie silence, they started their walk down the long narrow street, slowly disappearing in the distance.
