The field felt heavier than ever, as a pair of striking purple eyes drilled into Usui's own.

To be honest, making enemies out of Blue Lock was not what Usui had aimed for when coming here.

All the guy wanted to do was to reawaken his lost passion for the sport he used to love so much, soccer.

And now, playing against an amazing guy like Team X's Barou was something he'd never done before, and it made him feel good.

The fact that his own skills could defeat someone as monstrous as the "King of the field" himself made him feel accomplished and therefore excited.

However, that was only a flickering light that vanished as soon as it appeared.

After that moment of pleasure, it felt as if the same boring cycle came back, pulling Usui down with it.

Repetitive...it was all so repetitive.

With each score he had so effortlessly gotten, came a deafening "BEEP!" sound that occasionally made his ears ring.

And with each sound the buzzer made, the more eyes came boring into his very existence, as if they were all aiming to eliminate the only obstacle that blocked their chances of achieving their dreams.

Everyone could see that the "Fallen Eagle" was anything but fallen, instead soaring higher than anyone on that field could ever hope to.

To be beat by such a worn down talent...

It was infuriating.

"BEEP!BEEP!"

The final whistle blew as everyone stopped in their tracks, their eyes all darting towards the giant scoreboards that had each and everyone of their fates written there.

Team X VS Team Z:

1-6

"Fifth stratum, game 1. Winner: Team Z!"

The speaker read aloud, causing most of Team Z to break into cheers of joy.

The few who stayed silent was Raichi, Chigiri and Isagi, both of which only kept their eyes on the obvious MVP of the match.

"Mr. Center really did our team good, huh?"

Bachira exclaimed, a wide smile on his face as he jumped on the back of his long-haired friend, who only nodded quietly in response.

Though he had a cheery tone, Usui could have sworn that when he looked back, he witnessed a fire growing within Bachira's wide eyes.

It wasn't one of hatred, but almost a declaration of rivalry that even Bachira wished that he'd never felt.

After all, you weren't just a monster above all monsters to him, but the first friend he has ever made.

'That's great and all, but...'

Usui's eyes landed on a certain blue-head, the latter having been observing him not only not but the entire match as if he were trying to dissect every action that Usui was doing.

He wasn't sure if this was actually his intentions, but if it was...

Isagi suddenly froze, paralyzed at the sight of what looked like an eagle's eyes staring straight at him.

Unknowingly, Isagi could feel his back being pushed against a wall as Usui's arm was planted itself on it, trapping the both of them in a kabedon-like position.

Leaning forward, Usui gripped onto Isagi's right shoulder with his other hand, using just enough strength that wouldn't hurt the boy but still be able to instill the right amount of fear.

"Isagi, you'd better keep those hopes of yours to yourself. If you think that you'd be able to understand my plays just by witnessing those measly goals...

Just know that you've barely seen anything yet."
