More than year later

Lauren was standing near the foot of a huge staircase. She was leaning on the wall and looking at strangers faces that come and pass by n front of her. She sighed, she was there for almost an hour but she can't seem to find the one person she truly looking for.

She looked at the formal invitation that the award show sent her. She double check if she read it correctly. She saw Camila's band name at the bottom of the letter as the last presenter and last performer. She was sure that they're here but she never see anyone of them.

Patience. Lauren thought.

She was still looking around when someone clears her throat. Lauren looked at her right and saw a small brunette girl with clear Latin blood. Lauren smiled politely.

"Hi, I'm Becky."

"I'm Lauren."

"I know... I love your songs."

"Well thanks..." Lauren shyly replied.

"Do you want to grab a drink?" Becky asked as she come closer to the other girl.

"No, thanks... I'll be performing first. I don't want to get drunk. This is my first major award show... so I just don't want to mess it up." Lauren explained and the girl nodded.

"But... can we drink at the after party?" she asked again, seductively.

"Uh... sure..." Lauren responded with a smile.

Becky grab her arm, "Can you walk me there?" she asked pointing at the bar station. "Okay." Lauren simply said as they both walk to the counter.

"Are you sure you don't want to drink? You can order a light one?"

"Okay, I'll take one."

As Lauren was about to drink her eyes caught a familiar face. She looked intently to make sure. When the girl turn around Lauren smiled widely. She left Becky at the bar and the girl call her but she was too focus on following the girl that she saw to understand what Becky is saying at her.

They were many people that's in the lounge. Lauren walk fast to gain distance as she avoided the celebrities whose mingling to one another. She saw the girl turn a corner, then Lauren went to the side and cut through the large amount of people. She wasted no time to make her way to the girl.

She tugged her arm to get her attention. "Hey, Normani." Lauren said panting.

Normani's eyes went wide. "Lauren!" she squealed. "It's been a very long time."

"I know... so how are you? Where's the other girls?" Lauren asked happily.

"I don't know where they're at... we kind of split up to look at the whole place."

"Oh... okay..." Lauren responded as she regain her normal breathing.

How about you? Your songs were doing great.... By the way... knocking your own song on number one in Billboard." Normani commented proudly.

"Thanks... oh and good luck on your nominations."

"You too. Okay, let's look for the other girls while we catch up." Normani said as she drag Lauren with her. They walk on the left side of the huge lounge and carefully looking at the people around them. When they're about to go back at the bar, they saw Dinah chatting with one of the executive producers of the award show. Normani wave at the tall girl and when Dinah notice them her smile grew wide. She excused herself then went to Normani and Lauren.
