The gang had returned inside in full fury and Ferd hadn't hesitated to immediately raise his voice"guys! Wake up!" The bulls raised their heads, stunned and Spirit began to realize that he had should have waited outside ... but there was no time now. "we must go, now!" the black bull continued. Lupe stomped out of the barn "where were you!?" She brayed, Rain and Spirit looked at each other.
It was clear that no one had seen the calming goat in such a bad mood. Ferdinand didn't let himself be intimidated "listen, we can explain." Angus came out of his stable "have you lost your bloody mind?" he said in a shrill voice, Bones joined him "El primero will choose a bull tomorrow, we won't go anywhere! an'... what's the mustang doing here?" he asked.
Spirit tightened his jaw "mustang and flowerbull are trying to save your ass here!" the stallion said in a harsh tone "so keep your damned prejudices against your horses and let him talk!"Ferdinand resumed talking quickly "you don't want to be chosen, it's a death sentence!" He exclaimed. Angus snorted "Nonsense! Not if you win!" he said in his Scottish accent.
Ferdinand spoke again "that's the point! No bull wins! Ever!" he said again in a frenzy "we were at Moreno's house, we saw it!" Spirit and Rain went further to allow the hedgehogs to drop a set of horns in front of Angus and Bones.
The two jumped back from fright, Valiente made space between the two. Spirit saw it in his face; he didn't know what to think or what to say. "And there are many others from where it came. many others." said Spirit, seriously enough to make it clear that this was no silly joke. Bones's gaze took on fear "Is there really no way to win?"
Ferdinand shook his head "they take you to fight in a big fancy arena, but I'm telling you it's just another chop house!" A silence full of realization and horror fell on his back, even Lupe's anger had quickly become a fright.
But it was Valiente who broke the silence, moving the set of horns away."I won't believe a bunch of bloody cowards who only think about escaping in secret!" he growled coming nose-to-head with Ferd, who found himself in a tight spot "are you crazy?" he asked, astounded "didn't you hear what I said?"Valiente began to advance towards him, rain fell aside because Ferd was backing away. "Bulls fight or they go down! so the world goes." growled Valiente.
Even in the most regrettable situation, Ferdinand tried to make peace "there's nothing left for you here, Valiente!" he said, then sketching a smile "come with us!" But the other bull's answer displaced him. "NO!"
Spirit quivered with the desire to intervene, he knew what Valiente was aiming for.
But Rain stood in front of him, holding him back.
"what are you so afraid of?" asked Ferdinand. Spirit felt his body tense as in a contraction, because he knew what would happen. Valiente growled "I'm not afraid of anything!" he shouted, then charged with his head down to Ferd's chest. The black bull barely had time to lower his head, but slammed against the door of the stables that opened immediately.
The two bulls were outside and the air was electric, Valiente had his body stretched "come on, fight me!" he shouted at Ferdinand. The horse had expected to see Ferd intimidated, but he saw the black bull swell his chest and say out loud "I'm not gonna fight you, Valiente." articulating the words well. Spirit held his breath: the straw that broke the camel's back. "coward!" shouted Valiente, rasped the ground and launched into a charge that barely left time for Ferd to cross his horns with his own. There was a sound of clashing bones, heads bumping into each other. Ferdinand grugní. "Valiente, stop!" he exclaimed, but the brown bull continued to rage "you're soft." he growled softly, shoving Ferdinand. The biggest bull fell back on his hooves "like your father."
Valiente said this with a smirk. Ferdinand didn't know how to feel at that point; angry? enraged? sad? he didn't have time to figure it out, because Valiente set off again and the two started pushing again; The duel was one-way, and Valiente played only in attack, Ferdinand in defense only and tried in every way to prevent the opponent's pointed horns from ending up in one eye or hurting him. Have all eyes on you and try not to lose an eye ... crazy stuff.
