Spirit had never spent such a long night in his entire life, not even the sight of the starry sky, the proximity to rain, not even Ferdinand's comforting words were able to calm his nerves that led him to jump for everything.
"We're being stalked and should I feel comfortable? " he said like a destructive mantra, which kept him from losing his mind completely.
They were all exhausted now that the adrenaline was starting to fade, the bulls slept on the back, others were awake and kept an eye on the three horses with which they hadn't been on good terms before. Spirit hoped for their complete redemption, then they would be able to join his herd. He had promised it and intended to keep that.
"it seems we lost them..." said Ferdinand, but he seemed thoughtful.
Spirit did not even look at him, "With this tail wind they will soon catch up with us," he said dryly. Ferdinand looked at him and for a moment wondered if Spirit knew how a car worked, then told himself that he obviously did not. Probably the only car he saw was this one. And it would have been better if it had continued to be like this...."
"..." no one spoke for a long time, it was Rain who broke the silence (perhaps tired of not being able to make conversation and ease the tension) "So," she said. "It will be a while before we get to ... I'm sorry, what did you say her name was?"
"Ronda."
"Ronda, right. It will be a while before we get there, we have to kill time somehow."
Spirit leaned his muzzle on the back of the chair "Do you think running away from humans is considered a pastime? Because if so now I can consider myself an expert," he said, unable to hide the ghost of a laugh on his lips.
Valiente spoke from behind "We should make it an official profession, what do you say?" he said chuckling "At least we would get paid!"
Ferdinand laughed heartily "Having a lean physique from running counts as a reward!" he said, settling back better.
"Spirit has spent his whole life running, I think he's faster than us!""I'm a mustang, it's genitic." replied the horse, removing his mane from his eyes.
Oh, he was so thankful that nobody cut it off.
"Too bad we don't have a radio, we could have listened to some music." Bones suggested sadly. There was a moment of silence, then Spirit spoke
"...What is a radio?"

Madrid was more chaotic than Spirit thought, the mere sight of the traffic in which they were bottled made his head spin and his breathing speed considerably at the sight of the asphalt. That change of landscape had been so sudden for everyone. Nobody seemed comfortable at all. Spirit kept close to the rain, just to avoid being seen and not to feel the heat on his head ... he just wanted to feel a little wind and grass under his hooves, he was so tired of this asphalt and humans.
And besides, he was irritated by everything and everyone, especially by a guy next to their van who had been staring at him for fifteen minutes.
Spirit ignored him for a while, then briefly rolled his eyes and snapped outward, showing his teeth to the man, who hurriedly closed the window "Good, mind your business." he said, snorting irritably.
Rain chuckled "You're getting better at dealing with anger." She said.
Spirit's mood was irreversible, and if it hadn't been appeased it risked influencing everyone's optimism "I'll have very little self-control if someone else stares at us like that, I warn you."
he said "They will get a good kick in the lower parts if they get close."
