Chapter 16

Sana's POV

"You know why were going to another place, right?"

"Yes, Eomma."

"Then, don't make that guy fall for you deeper. He is also close to your former boss. He will just ruin my plan to take you in safe."

"What do you mean, Eomma. What should I do?"

"Just tell him you can't. Don't give him false hope. Tomorrow after tomorrow, we're going to leave. Pack your things already."

"Ne, Eomma."

I just hang my head low after me and Eomma's conversation. I don't know what to do. I don't know what to do even Eomma already told me.

"Sana!" Eomma called me.

I didn't knew she still in front of me. I thought she walk back inside the house after I agreed on her.

I look up to her and saw her frowning.

"Eomma?"

"You became silent. Is there something bothering you? Or someone?"

"N-nothing, Eomma. I'm just tired." I said in a low voice and avert my gaze from her.

She sigh. I look at her again. It seems like, she's not buying my reasonings. Well, she knows me all my life. No wonder.

"Is this about Dahyun?" She straightforwardly ask me.

"Ani."

"Then, what? Sana, I know you. And you know it. You'll not acting like that if there's no problem. Tell me. At least, tell me if you have something to say. I will not judge you. I'm not your Mother for nothing."

"I.... I don't know, Eomma. I'm confused."

"Confuse of what?"

She held my shoulders and make me face her. Then, her hands caress my cheeks. We look at each other eyes for a second before I avert my eyes off her.

"Nothing, Eomma. I just go back inside. He maybe bored already." I told Eomma and walk away.

I can't tell her. I don't want to hurt her. And I don't want to disobey her. She's my Mother. She knows everything for the best of us.

When I arrived at the living room where I left him before talking to Eomma, I didn't see anyone. Even my sister.

Where those two might be? I asked myself.

"Eonni!"

I turn to look at my sister after she called me.

"Dinner is ready. Where's Eomma?"

Instead of replying her, I asked her back.

"Where's Dahyun?"

"He left already."

"Why?"

"I don't know. After we talk for a minute, I left him again to prepare the foods. But as I came back, I didn't saw him already. Maybe, he just had an emergency. That's why, he didn't bother to tell us."

I just nod at her.

Not long ago, I saw Eomma walking towards us. We stare  to each other eyes for a second but I avert my gaze again.

I walk straight to the dinning area not waiting for them. They just follow after me.

Silence filled the area. No one talk. Only the sound of the utensils we're heard.

Even, Yoona didn't initiate the talk because she's not like one to initiate something.

I finished my food and tell them I'm done.

I left them and go straight to my room after. I click the doorknob open and enter my room with heavy thoughts lingering inside my head.

What's happening to me?

Dahyun's POV

"Oopa, just wait here for a while. I'll just prepare our dinner. Maybe, Eonni and Eomma will go back her in a minute." Yoona told me.

I just nod at her and she left.

Out of boredom, I just wonder my eyes inside there house. All I can see was there family pictures. Some diploma's, non-curricular and extracurricular awards from the sisters.

I follow Yoona to the kitchen. I saw her preparing the foods. I decided to help her but my phone suddenly ring and it's Uncle.

I answer it right away.

"Uncle? Why did you call?" I ask.

"Where are you right now?"

"I'm here at Sana's House. Why?"

"Oh! Have you told her already?"

"Ne. But she's not yet telling me if I can continue. She's having words with her Mom."

"Just be patient. If she is really who you want, pursue it. And, I just called if you can accompany to somewhere. But after you said you're having your time with her, no need. I can handle myself. Just enjoy there okay."

"Yes, Uncle."

I drop the call and continue wondering inside the house. I stop when I saw their baby pictures displayed through the hallway of their house going to their backyard.

One of the picture got my attention but before I got to see it closely and clearly, I heard Sana's Mom said.

I'm not eavesdropping, it just caught by ear the same time her Mom say it.

"Just tell him you can't. Don't give him false hope. Tomorrow after tomorrow, we're going to leave. Pack your things already."

"Ne, Eomma."

I don't know what to feel that time.

After Sana agreed to what her Mom said to her, it follows with the deafening silence.

I'm thinking maybe, they're done of talking so I left the place where I am right now. I go back to the living room. But what her Mom said suddenly repeat in my mind. I decided to left without their knowledge.

I hurriedly left their house and drive away the place.

I call Uncle and tell him I'm going with him.

"Are you sure? What happened?" He asked after I told him my sudden decision.

"I'll just tell you right after I arrived there, Uncle."

"Okay. I'll wait for you."

"Thanks."

"Your welcome."

I'm not mad after I heard those. I just feel disappointed and dismay.

I already know the possibility that she will reject my request. And I'm not even expecting for her to let me court her.

"And what really happened?"  Uncle ask me slowly saying every words that coming from his mouth.

I told him everything. Even the time I accidentally Eve's dropped their conversation.

"Uh... It's okay. It normally happens."

"I know, Uncle. I'm just disappointed."

"Just understand them. I know why Mrs. Minatozaki did that. If I am in her place, I will also take my family away to the place where I know will give danger to us. Or to the people that will bring it."

"But how about the investigation? Now that Mr. Kaito died, is there any other lead that Aunt Jihyo had now?"

"Not yet. I'm thinking of Mrs. Minatozaki involvement but now that they decided to go away, we have no rights to stop them. It's not right to push them if ever they knew but used to be silent. We have to change strategy then."

"You'll see her sooner, Uncle. And I'll wait for everything to be okay, too. With that, maybe her Mom can let me to pursue Sana."

"Is that so? Okay, we'll wait for them."
