Fluttering her eyes open slowly she knew it smelled all too familiar. Derrick was making breakfast for her like he always does but she wasn't so sure she planned on staying any longer she didn't want to hurt his feelings but she knew morning sickness would sneak up on her. Nadir had been trying her best to hide it from him but she wasn't sure how much longer before it became obvious. Nadir always wanted kids but as she got older and realized there was more to it, her mind changed.
"Hey baby", he said walking into their room before placing a gentle kiss against her lips. She instantly melted which would was making it harder to leave. She sat up more this time saying," I got to go Derrick". "And where's that to? Hmm? " he said. Nadir knew her no excuse so she started at him in defeat. "Imma let you freshen up and then come eat love. I made your favorite, Strawberry pancakes, and my famous omelet".
After he exited the room Nadir entered their bathroom in their room and sat her phone down on the counter. She thought to herself if she should tell him before she made her decision. She dropped her nightgown and was about to enter the restroom before receiving a hard slap to her behind causing her to look quickly at Derick and gasp. "I'm sorry but I need some of her ", he said before brushing his fingers against her lips causing her mouth to fall wide open. Before she knew it her hands were above her head pinned against the shower wall while he entered her slowly. ____________________________________
Nadir looked up from her plate and realize she was devouring everything pretty quickly . Derick chuckled at her " Go ahead. I know you missed my cooking. Shit I missed yours "he said grinning. He cleared his throat causing her to look up at him once again.
"So I'm going to just ask this once because if I don't then you'll continue to hide it when we're you going to tell me you were pregnant"? Nadir dropped her fork mid bite, swallowing the food left in her mouth.
"What are you talking about", she said lowly letting him know he wasn't wrong. He stared at her for a second before continuing again," Nadir I know you. You're pregnant but the question is when we're you going to tell me like I asked before. And why are you hiding it from me". "Derrick's deep voice echoed . " I was going to tell you I just needed time to adjust. To think about it maybe".
"Think about it?" "Do you not want my child or something. We're you gonna get rid of it". Nadir didn't know what to say to him because he wasn't going to like what she had to say. She was already scared because his nostrils were flaring and his chest was rising up and down as if he just got into a bad fight with someone.
"Derrick I do. It's just that". "Just what ?" "I can't have this baby Derrick. I can't.". "Why Nadir. Is it not mine?" "Derrick of course it is. I just..". "Then what? You what ?"
"I can't have this baby because I'm scared of messing it up". Nadir started full blown crying causing Derrick to soften up. He realized it was more to it and he couldn't be mad at her anymore. She clearly wanted a life with him, a family with him. But something was in the way he just didn't know what .
Derrick rose from his seat causing Nadir to turn her attention to him. "I'm sorry Derrick. I wasn't going to make a decision yet . I just. I just", she said before letting the tears flown again. Nadir wanted to tell him badly but she was scared of admitting it to herself aloud.
"What is it baby. Tell me. I'm not mad I promise. I want this baby but you have to tell me what it is". " I found out I have bipolar disorder and I can get worse if I have this baby. The doctor told me if I wanted to have the baby that was going to be the outcome". Nadir didn't want to mess up her child and she felt this way often lately. She felt she wasn't normal for a while but she didn't want to also possibly pass it down to her child.
"We're going to the next appointment together and we'll talk more and take it from there okay? Don't leave though. I need you Nadir. Stay please". She nodded .
Derrick hugged her tightly before picking her up and taking her to their room.
