Prologue

Why is he ignoring me?

It feels like he doesn't no I'm present.

Whenever our gazes would lock, he would always avert his eyes hastily. There was so much coldness filled up in his emerald green eyes, it makes my heart clench.

As I stare at him from the distance, my eyes scanning his face to try and detect some emotion in them. But his face was blank and his gestures were robotic and emotionless.

If only I wasn't shy and under confident, I would've gone up there and inquire as to why he isn't speaking to me.

My thoughts were suddenly interrupted as Drew drops down beside me on the blanket.

"Aleksa.. is something wrong?" Drew asked in a worried tone.

I turn to look at him in a bewildered look as said: "why would you think that?"

"Well for starters, you keep staring at Marcel. And Aleksa were here to hang out with our friends, not to isolate ourselves in the corner." Drew says exasperatedly.

I blush at the thought that he caught me glancing at Marcel. I hope no one else noticed that.

"Not to sound mushy or anything but if there's something bothering you, you can tell me right. I mean we're best friends." Drew declared with a cheeky grin plastered on his face.

I sighed as I drawled out, "Marcel is ignoring me Drew... not that I really care but it's bugging me!"

Drew looked at me puzzled as he glanced over my shoulder to look at Marcel while he said, "how do you even no that guy, he seems sketchy if you ask me .."

"I knew Marcel from long back...."

I recited how we knew each other to Drew.

Me and Marcel first met in primary school. We were inseparable and always stuck together. He was the only friend I had in primary school, because the other girls were b!tches. you would think that primary school girls would be sweet and kind, but no....

Anyway long story short, we remained friends until year six and then we had to attend different secondary schools so we lost our contact. But then now we found each other again and things have been different........
