Our food arrived, and I began to explain the argument I had with my father although it wasn't really an argument it was just a little disagreement that's all. "I just wanted to be apart of the family business help out a little. I knew I'd eventually get married I just thought I'd had more time. Maybe find someone on my own".
"Then work" Rose said like it was the easiest solution int he world. "Maybe you can try to find a different workplace". "I wish. My dad would probably be two steps ahead of me blacklisting me being one of them and if I tried anywhere that involved finance, they'd recognize my last name and go to him for reference only to be told not to hire me".
Lisa's lips curled up in disgust. "I'll have to be extra careful around your dad now. I have word for him". "I bet" I laughed. "Anyways what's his name your soon to be?" Jisoo asked.
"HyunJin". Rose gasped. I lifted an eyebrow. "What? don't tell me you know him". "Yeah, our families know each other quite well except he moved abroad in high school, and I never saw him again". Oh, I almost forgot his parents still live here dad once mentioned that something happened, and he had to move abroad and continue his studies.
"Hmm... ". Lisa narrowed her eyes and pursed her lip, looking around the restaurant, like an idea was hiding behind one of the plants. "Why don't you apply with a different last name?". "Well, if you may not know most businesses require some sort of identification, and all those have my name on them. I wouldn't get very far".
"Then just get a fake ID it's not that hard. You just have to get the right guy that's all". "I don't know and isn't that illegal". She shrugged. "It isn't if you don't get caught". "No, I'm not doing it and that's final". Lisa rolled her eyes. "Whatever party pooper stay unemployed then". The dinner went on as normal aside from the fact that the handsome stranger was still there.
The next day.
I found out last night that my sister's flight had been cancelled and she wouldn't be here until the next couple of days. As soon as she found out she quickly called my mom to have her know it made me sad to know that I wouldn't be able to see her for another couple of days. But it gave me more time to prepare myself for her arrival I have a lot of things planned for us to do together.
I got up early this morning searching for jobs that I could apply to luckily, I found one that surprisingly didn't ask for identification which seemed a little suspicious. I mean what type of company doesn't ask for an employee's ID card what if they were some thugs or something.
Anyway, it didn't matter to me as long as I got hired and I didn't have to show them my ID card for identification. It sounds like a win-win deal to me I have a job and they have an employee.
I just went for the interview turns out they were looking for someone right away and told me to come for the interview today. I can't wait to call the girls and tell them how the interview went. Before I could reach the front doors, I stopped and opened my bag to dig my phone out, but it wasn't in the pocket I usually kept it in.
I flipped through each section, wondering if I'd lost it somewhere. I had it with me before the interview because mom had texted me asking where I'd gone so early. Which I by the way lied about. I had just unzipped the middle section when a wall clipped my shoulder and sent my bag flying off my arm onto the floor.
All my belongings scattered out like water from a tipped-over glass.
"Shit" a deep voice said at the same time I did. I jerked my head up ready to give this asshole and piece of my mind when I locked eyes with the most beautiful green and hazel I'd ever seen. "I'm so sorry. Are you alright?". My gaze dropped from his eyes, down the strong bridge of his nose to settle on his full lips.
"Jesus" I said on an exhale. dark stubble coated his jaw, and I clenched my hands to keep from reaching out and thumbing his plush bottom lip. I may have almost moaned when his tongue slicked across the bottom before they began moving again.
"What was that?" he asked. His hand gently rested on my shoulder, giving a soft squeeze. it swallowed my smaller frame, sending a heat that burned through my chest.
"Miss?" he spoke again and finally pulled me out of my trance. Blinking and shaking my head, I reprimanded myself for becoming a woman who damn near melted into a pile of goo over some facial features. "I'm sorry. Yes. You ... you...". I looked down at the papers, pens, wallet and other essentials scattered across the tile floor and collected myself.
"Dammit" I muttered, dropping to my knees to collect everything. "Here, let me help" he offered dropping down next to me. I watched as he grabbed one of my small pouches, grateful I kept all my feminine products in there. Otherwise, they'd be scattered right next to everything else. He held the black pouch between his long fingers and offered it back to me.
Taking a few discreet deep breaths, I finally found the courage to really look up and see the man who sent me from angry to a puddle in point two seconds. His large body crunched next to mine, and as soon as my eyes met his again, familiarity hit me forcing my heart to flutter a little harder in my chest.
The man from the restaurant. The one Lisa said I should talk to. What are the odds? Was it a sign? "It's you" he said, his eyes scanning my features. Like a record scratching, his ,words stopped my fantasies of fate with confusion. "What?". "Sorry" he said with a laugh. He shook his head and looked down, running his hand through his hair. When he looked up again, his lips tipped, stretching his cheeks over sharp cheekbones, resting underneath glassy eyes. "I saw you at the restaurant the other night".
