"TIME IS running, kagome," a girl mumbled silently underneath her pants. "save us all, and i'll never question your existence ever again," she continued erratically, before she opened the bamboo sliding door. there were doctors and nurses running around. the girl stopped a doctor, looking at him with [e/c] eyes, mixed with great distress and agony. "how's he doing, doctor?" asked the girl in a stern voice. "not good," replied the doctor.
"his windpipe is completely ripped off— he's got impaired vision— half of his organs are missing, it's a miracle that he could still breathe," the doctor said, panting in worry and panic for the safety of his patient. the girl's heart plummeted completely when she heard her little brother's worsening condition.
the girl felt her throat running dry, her head pounding in pain. she hadn't slept for two days ever since her little brother was attacked by a demon and a demon slayer brought him to the nearby hospital. the girl sucked in a tight breath. "everyone! out!" she suddenly commanded.
everyone paused in their actions and stared at the girl with confusion. "i said, out! out, now!" she screamed loudly. the doctors and nurses tensed, before they quickly rush out of the room, figuring that the girl needed time alone with her half-dead brother. she slowly strided over to the laying boy on the bed, and stared at his face.
the girl felt her eyes burning in hot tears, but she quickly wiped them away. her little brother probably didn't want to see her sobbing because of him. she forced a smile on her lips, it wasn't her usual charming elegant smile but it was a tight hurt smile. one that could break anytime now.
"wake up soon, okay?" she muttered quietly. "big sister will be next to you when you wake up," she continued before everything went silent. the girl reached for the boy's hands, only to feel... that his hands were cold. this alerted the girl immediately and her breathing picked up the pace onee again. she dived in to press her ear against his chest— only to hear no heartbeat.
she was in denial. great denial. "stop it, hakai, this isn't funny," she said sternly. her eyes started to water without her noticing, she pressed her fingers on the boy's neck, checking for a pulse, except, she didn't feel anything. no heartbeat, once again.
