Neil Magnus's POV:
I woke up with a headache, my temple throbbing and my eyes burning.
Grunting as I kick the sheets off myself, I sit upright in my king sized bed. Not only did I wake up in pain, my awful insomnia also kicked in and now, My whole ass head feels numb and heavy. I shouldn't have taken all those sleeping pills....its too late anyways."I have work today...." I mumbles to myself, still disoriented and half asleep. With a strained look at the time and exasperated sigh, groaning, I roll out of bed hesitantly and stretch my aching body.

I sit at my office desk and work on a few important documents on humankind. Signing, stamping and reading every single document. I flip through the pages one by one, I do my work slowly, almost lazily. A knock on the door makes me abruptly stop what I'm doing.
Grunting in discomfort, I lean back against the smooth leather cushion of my chair. The cool surface allows me to ease into a relaxed position, the throbbing in my head softens just the slightest. Pinching the bridge of my nose with my middle finger and thumb, I look up at the door which opens slightly, revealing the face of a very familiar person.
"Neil, are you sure you're feeling well?" My assistant and best friend, Minho Kang, asked again, for the ninth time today, his face––pale as always, showing signs of concern and fatigue. He hands me a glass of water and waits expectantly for my answer.
"I'm fine, just a bit tired... I'm guessing that this isn't why you're here though, so please, enlighten me. What is it that you have to say? More work?" I say sarcastically with a hint of annoyance. As I sip on the cold water; I feel calmer and much better. My mood lightens up almost instantly.
I stare up at my assistant and my closest companion, nodding at him to continue. Out of nowhere, Minho put a pile of files on my desk—files that he didn't have with him when he first entered my office.
I gape at him for a moment before looking down at my growing pile of work. Minho doesn't say anything, just stares at me with anticipation—he waits for my response, his usually enchanting black eyes are shadowed with bags; signs of sleepless nights spent here in my office working continuously without breaks.
Staring down at my desk, I'm about to literally cry until I see "Alden" in the title. I tilt my head in confusion and slight recognition before I realize that these must be the files I asked for on the person I previously found a few days ago.
"Anything suspicious?"
"We weren't able to find anything on him from the past few years, everything else seems fine. I suspect that he's been in hiding for those years but it hasn't been confirmed yet. He just...disappeared a while back and reappeared now."
"So who is he? He must be a relative of the war general of the angels considering his surname... I assume he is of such origin, yes?"
"Yes, he's the son of the angels' war general Nathanial Alden and his late wife, Lillian Alden. He's 420 years old as of now, and previously lived in his parents' mansion in Heaven. The mansion is located on the outskirts of the gates between Heaven and Hell and––"
"Minho..."
"He went missing from Heaven and wasn't seen again till now, he stopped going out and partaking in social events at the time of his fathers own disappearance. everything at the time of his disappearance, up to now is unknown, that's approximately 100 years of information that I was unable to find. I believe that something in those years caused him to leave but it was covered up."
"I want you to find out anything you can from those 100 years. Also find out where he's been and why he disappeared from Heaven. Understand?"
"Yes sir, I understand. I'll bring you another report within 48 hours."
"Alright thanks Minho, you may leave now."
"It's a pleasure to work with you, Neil." And with that, giving me a slight nod of the head as a farewell, Minho left.
I looked over Thesis Alden's files. His childhood up till now seems to be quite... peculiar.
His mother was going through severe depression and had been diagnosed with quite a lot of other mental health issues but had denied any professional help.
His father left him and his mother in his early teens, didn't tell them why. Mrs. Alden got even more depressed and became overly paranoid and sensitive to everything. Thesis was mostly locked up in his mansion and most of his servants were fired because of his psychotic and irrational mother.
Thesis most likely did not know of his mother's mental illnesses and was clueless of her actions. Thesis disappeared, on the same day officers showed up to their mansion with an arrest warrant for his mother and that was also the day his mother and a demon were found dead in his luxurious home...Wait. What? She was found dead with a Demon... in the angel realm?
So much significant and overwhelming information...Why wasn't I informed of this before?

Alastair Deon's POV
I remember life with him, before he ever met Thesis. It was peaceful life. quiet but perfect.
He used to be such a bright young demon, never causing trouble, caring for the elderly demons and helping out with the widows and their kids. He was hopeful but rational, never letting his emotions take control of him.
My beautiful little brother didn't deserve to have his future taken away from him by that wench. its all because of Thesis Alden and his cruel mother.
Why? "perfect" little Thesis was living his life of luxury and riches all left to him by his father and ancestors. so why did he have to come barging into our lives? Why did this all have to happen to us?
I sometimes wonder what life without Thesis Alden would be like. I'm sure it would've been peaceful, perfectly balanced. I wouldn't be hiding in the shadows, watching Thesis tremble and beg his "Gods" for mercy. For relief, a freedom he doesn't deserve.
