Chapter 3

"master, uk has ingested poison!"

"holy what?!"

my eyes widen at his response. the exquisite tea cup in my hand slipped and shattered.

i hurried to him, not sparing a single second.

i see him lying on the floor, taking support of a table beside him. we rush to him and put him on a bed.

"young master!" maidservant kim barges in. "will he recover?" she asks already crying.

"bring rainwater" master heo ordered. to use my healing power, i need rainwater.

i started circling my hand around the bowl. slowly the water in the bowl started levitating and moving around my hand. i moved my hand forming certain movements. the rainwater circling around my hands moved and got inside uk's neck.

he groaned in pain.

"hang in there for a bit. we will do out best"

the colour of his body turned blue slightly. he did seem a little relieved but the poison was still in his body.

"i can only do so much master" i said, "if we don't take action now" i sighed, "we will lose him"

"what are you waiting for?!" maidservant kim yelled, "my young master here can't even breathe anymore. open his gate of energy" she joined her hands and begged master heo, sobbing in between.

and with that the process started.

"what poison did you give him?" Lord Park sternly asked mudeok.

she was soaked in blood, her hands tied from the ceiling. she had a smirk on her face, something definitely not expected given her condition. she stayed silent and didn't answer his question.

"beat her until something comes out of her mouth"

"my lord, she could die"

"uk is dying there!" he yelled in worry.

"uncle!" danggu came running, "they removed the poison from uk's body" he said panting in between.

"they found the antidote?"

"no, master heo opened his gate of energy" he said with in a low voice.

lord park's eyes widen, his mouth wide open. he was staring his nephew in disbelief.

i was sitting beside uk's bed, tears flowing from my eyes. negative thoughts got over me. i didn't notice but uk had already gained his senses and was looking around.

he looked at me with relief. "sohee-ya" he quietly said.

i snapped out of my thoughts and looked at him. i felt my soul finally coming back.

"uk-a!" i yelled crying and hugged him.

"yah, it still hurts" he groaned in pain.

"right i'm sorry" i wiped my tears smiling, "i told you that maid of yours is not someone trustworthy. will you ever listen to me once?!" i scolded him.

"alright i'm sor-" realisation hit him. mudeok! his maid must've been punished to death by now, "where is mudeok?" he asked panicked.

"uncle has been punishing her in the secret room for not revealing what poison she gave y-" i was interrupted by him getting out of his bed and running, "uk, where are you going?!!" i quickly went and followed him.

"why did you bring her out?" uncle said with a stern look on his face.

uk was holding mudeok when he couldn't even stand properly himself.

i couldn't resist but help to hold her. uk gave a small smile before turning to uncle.
