i was standing in front of the crowd waiting for uncle and choyeon's arrival. i noticed my friends standing in the corner.

danggu noticed the agitated mudeok.

"for years the lee and jin family have been in charge of handling and controlling the ancient relics. don't worry, sohee and choyeon will seize the soul shifter in no time" he assured her.

black smoke escaped the statue swiftly and took the form of a dog. it jumped on the lanterns hanged from the ceiling moving above the crowd.

"the alchemy of souls, a type of sorcery has one weakness. there is a gap between the body and the soul. the evil energy seeps out of it and gwigu can detect that" danggu explained.

the relic was looking around in search of sorcery. suddenly it jumped down causing chaos. it headed towards the direction of my friends.

choyeon and i were looking at each other worried.

the gwigu jumped above them and attacked the mage standing behind them. the gwigu's attack caused his eyes to turn pitch black. he started petrifying.

"he is the soul shifter. get him!"

he was surrounded by the mages. one by one, he started slashing all of them. i stood in front of him, my sword unsheathed.

a tense fight took place. our swords colliding with each other creating harsh noises. he used a spell on me that i couldn't dodge and fell down. danggu came and helped me.

seo yul fought instead of me. he quickly defeated and stabbed him right on his heart. all of us got shocked when the body transformed into stone and petrified.

yul broke the tension by inviting us to the reception for tea.
