Sylvia Kim
Jennie was staring outside the cab window as it zooms out of traffic, she watches the scenery to change, from tall buildings, to empty vasts, to trees, to tombs. There were gray skies, it's a bit chilly too, and a cold wind blew from time to time, I guess it's safe to say that the kind of weather that day was sad, and so is Jennie. She took a deep breath before she get out of the cab, after she paid. With flowers in her hands, she walked slowly, kicking some fallen leaves on the way. She changed her clothes from the airport, now she's wearing a cute black mini dress, with a beanie, but with the same boots from earlier. She's sure her mother would not totally approved by what she looked right now, but would totally compliment her on how she could rocked any look. Jennie smiled at the thought, because its true, her mom would totally do that, and she missed her mom's compliments. As Jennie came closer to where her mom is, she waved at the old man who is sweeping just near, the old man smiled politely and waved back
"Just like clock work, you're here" said the old man
"Would never missed, Mr. Smith. How's mom?"
"Just cleaned it there, I think someone visited, there was a flower. Maybe your dad stopped by"
"Yeah, may be" Jennie smiled politely and went straight to her mom
As she reached her mom, she put her bag down, kneeled and put the flowers at the center. She crossed her legs as she sits herself comfortably.
"Hi, mom" Jennie said as she lowers her head and starts to pick some of the grass
"The cab fare to here is getting way to costly, maybe I should go by the train next time, you think?. By the way, I met someone on the way here, I think you'll like her, she doesn't know how shut up like you, she's always has something to say. Plus she's funny. And she's pretty. Very pretty.." Jennie sighs took a couple of deep breaths then talks again
"Did dad visited you? Is he the one gave you this? He still don't know how you don't like this flower, I guess it's Christine who picks them. I'm meeting them tomorrow, lunch i guess and a concert play? I don't know, i don't even wanna go, but then I thought about you, how you would tell me that I should go, that I should give dad a chance, even in death you still boss me around huh?" she laughed. Then she cleared the flowers, and put them on the side, as she lie down. She stayed there for a couple of minutes, just trying to feel the warmth of her mom's embrace, but it's only the coldness of the stone that hits her back. After a while she stood up, fixed her dress and picked up her bag
"I'll go now mom, I'll see you next year? I missed you. I love you mom" She touched the tombstone where Sylvia Kim was etched. Beloved mother. She kissed her hand and touched it into the stone again, kissing her mom as she bids farewell, then she left.
