The Unlikly Roomates

Chapter 1

No POV

Juniper walked up to the cave entrance, reading the sign that dangled on the doorway; Hookworms Laboratory. Juniper looked down at the small piece of paper that had the location of her new partner and sure enough, she was here. Juniper took a deep breath and lightly knocked on the stone entrance. Juniper took in the cave, looking around before; "Uhm, hello..." Juniper said quietly to the Hivewing that stood over a table with experiments on it. The Hivewing was slim yet muscular. Their scales were a shade of deep red and they had rings around her horns.

"Oh.. hello." The Hivewing grumbled, a frown appearing on her face. "Alright let's get you settled in." The Hivewing says to Juniper. She put down whatever she was tinkering with and walked over to a bed. "This is your bed," she walks over the a desk with empty scrolls on it. "This is your desk and that is your table" The Hivewing points to the table next to the one she was using to tinker something on.

"Oh alright." Juniper says quietly. She carefully sets down the bag that was neatly slung over her body. "Also, dont talk to me." The Hivewing speaks up behind Jupiter, going back to tinkering. "I'm not a social creature so please don't interact with me unless needed." She grumbles.

"Oh... Alright." Juniper nods. I suppose that's understandable. I have no idea what her past is so I can't exactly judge her. Juniper thinks to herself.

"Hookworm." The Hivewing grumbles once again.

"Hm?" Juniper hums, confusion flowing over her face.

"My name... It's Hookworm." The Hivewing speaks louder.

"O-oh, alright. I'm Juniper." The Rainwing replies, a small smile on her face. Juniper looks over to one of the openings in the cave walls that acted like a window, noticing it was getting dark out she turned to her new roommate, "I'm going to bed, gonna try and get an early start tomorrow." she says. Hookworm shrugs, seeming not to care.

"I'm probably not going to be here in the morning but don't worry, I'll be back later. Feel free to eat and do whatever. Just don't break anything." Hookworm says over her shoulder, focusing on the thing in her talons.

"Alright.." Juniper says quietly, yawning. Juniper walks over to her bed and lays down, slowly closing her eyes and drifting to sleep. After a few minutes Hookworm also decides to head to bed, carefully putting down the thing she was doing before walking over to her own bed, plopping down with a muffled, Thump.

Juniper slowly woke up, her eyes slowly opening to a dark cave. She blinks to rid the sleepiness from her eyes. As Juniper's vision clears she notices the bright moonlight pouring into the dim cave. Juniper slowly got up, making sure she didn't wake her sleeping roommate. Juniper slowly makes her way out of the cave to the small stone area outside of the cave. She sits down, looking up at the one full moon of the 3 that lay in the sky above her. A small yet comforting breeze sways around her, brushing against her scales and swaying the plants around her. Jupiter looks down at the fern in front of her, reaching her talons towards it; she carefully picks the plant up, holding it in her claws. Jupiter then looked over to The Cure. She held the fern next to the plant, comparing them. Juniper's eyes widened and her ears perked as she noticed The Cure looked... better, than it did during the day. Juniper couldn't help but let some of the scales on the tip of her tail and on her feet turn a light pink, showing she was very excited and happy at the discovery. Juniper set the fern down carefully before rushing inside, dipping her claw into the ink that lay on her desk. She opened one of the empty scrolls and started writing quickly;
