The sky was ablaze with explosions, and the sounds of destruction echoed through the air. Buildings began collapsing as I was blasted through several rundown apartment complexes, a set of chains wrapped around my leg. Trying to get back on my feet, the chains rammed me through more walls, leaving me dazed by the minute.

Eventually, I was able to shatter the bonds holding me down, giving me a brief moment to catch my breath. Then, leaning against a wall, I pulled myself up, seeing the carnage laid across Dragon's Breath. Stella was on a complete rampage, completely losing her mind to this new power. Floating in the air, chains surrounding her, clumps of rubble and buildings were being sucked up, creating a barrier around the new Deity. "Stella, what did you agree to?"

A moment had passed, and I had come to my senses, but that didn't make the situation any easier for me; fighting petty crooks is one thing, but a wannabe God is an entirely different ball game. So, tugging at my Shadow, I prepped myself to fight back in the eye of the storm. If only it were that easy. My Shadow quickly darted up from the ground, blocking a set of gunshots. Moving away, I turned, rolling my eyes, seeing Diego at my heel.

"Hey, Dauoi."

"Diego, nice gun."

Inspecting his machine gun, Diego shrugged his shoulders. "It's alright; I hoped we would face off when more people were in the race. Can't exactly use my powers when there's no one around."

"True. Don't you think we have bigger priorities here, though?" I state, glancing back to Stella. "Doubt that little toy could scratch a Deity."

"Maybe not, but it can work wonders on you." He barks, firing like a madman at me. Running down the corridor, I ducked and weaved past each gunshot, my Shadow wrapping around my arm, pulling me along like a grappling hook. Soaring out of the building, I began scaling the building, now gaining Stella's total control.

Racing around, I flew above the building, propelling down and rippling towards the next building. Diego was still firing on me, choosing to jump off the building and realising he had taken control of the Hero Chaser. Appearing in front of me, he clocked his gun, smirking. "Going somewhere?"

Kicking the door off its hinges, I sent it at Diego, knocking him over as I scrambled into the next room, the chains from Stella still in hot pursuit. My escape attempts came to a screeching halt as the collapsed wall blocked my escape. Having no choice, I raised my foot, smashing down, caving the floor and falling to the lower floors. Rolling back the falling rubble, I kept a steady jog, looking to get out of sight quickly. Unfortunately, a scorching blue flame had other ideas.

I was coming to a complete stop. I was now forced to dodge a barrage of fire, my clothes being brunt clean off. Ripping off my sleeve, I spread my Shadow around, ready. "Kira, listen to me. I ca-."

"It's just me, you silly old cunt." Cyrus boasted, stretching his arms behind his back. "I was starting to think you kicked the bucket; how is ya doing?"

"I don't have time for your shit Cyrus, fuck off."

"No, can do my guy. I know I said let's keep away from each other, but bloody hell, I can't resist ye old sheep shagger."

"He's making no sense again," I whisper, the black on my fingertips spreading further down my hand. "Final warning Cyrus, fuck off and leave me alone. I've got enough on my plate as it is."

I didn't even need to hear Cyrus' reply as I was already jumping into action, diving to the ground and pulling at the shadows I had planted to bring the upper floors down on Cyrus. The building began to crumble under its weight. The shades of the damned began ripping at me, pulling me into the darkness as I escaped the destruction reappearing from the Shadow of a flickering lamppost. The sun was already fully set as night took hold. Shadows danced around me, my ally and weapon all at once. A gust of wind whispered through the deserted street, stirring my long coat and causing my eyes to narrow with determination.
