I am Jon Goos. What you are about to read is a journal inscribed with the flesh of what is known as the Crimson. You may not be familiar with this term or what it represents, but I will enlighten you.
This journal is a collection of all the knowledge I have gathered thus far, recorded in the case of an emergency or my demise in this living hell.
It appears that no one bothers to document the things they have witnessed in this new world, so I have taken it upon myself to record what I find and share it with fellow survivors and explorers. Perhaps through my writings, others can learn from my experiences and increase their chances of survival in this world that is slowly being consumed by the Crimson.
This entry serves as an introduction, not only to my journal but also to myself. My name is Jon Goos, and I am a goose of average height and weight. I am free of any infection or corruption. I am, to the best of my knowledge, a normal being in a world that is anything but.
The world is changing in ways we never imagined. We once thought that we would evolve into a higher technological society and travel to space, but we were wrong. NASA, a space program, once explored the depths of our oceans. Sadly, they stopped exploring the ocean and started to look into space travel instead. They should have continued their exploration of the ocean, but something scared them away and up into the stars.
Had NASA continued their oceanic exploration, we may have been a functioning civilization, but now there are only camps, outposts, and small compounds that house survivors from different walks of life. Man, anthro-kind, and monster-kind never expected the arrival of the Crimson.
As the Crimson began to consume our world, we gave it its name due to the deep crimson hue that enveloped everything in its path.
Little did we know that in the depths of the Antarctic Ocean, something was resonating, or rather, a fleshy mass. A team of explorers made the mistake of exploring the Arctic. Global warming had become a major issue, and something had melted out of the ice, never to be seen or heard from again.
Now, I must begin. It is time to let the world know of what exists out there, beyond what they thought they knew.
