Just as jaune had suspected, his form existed on another spectrum. No one seemed freaked out when he entered the streets, which was a surprise considering his monstrous form. But that surprise doubled when he tried to gain a man's attention. Reaching forward to grab the man's shoulder, his own shadowy hand phased through the human.

His surprise was overcome when he remembered something She had told him, shortly after his transformation was complete.
"You are a creature of the shadows. Only the monsters and people with shadow affinity can see or touch you."
For someone to have an affinity with shadows meant they had to have unlocked their semblance and aura. Semblances based around illusion meant the wielder was a shadowing – someone with a shadow affinity.

Illusion based semblances were rare, and so, he moved through the crowded street, phasing through everyone as he walked. He made sure to keep his axe close to his torso. Even if they couldn't touch him, his axe could still hurt someone if carried away from his body.
Still, the crowds bought back some happy memories. Running through the street to the book shop in order to purchase the newest adventure book. He had always liked stories about heroes.

He walked for hours, exploring almost half of the entire city. Due to his transformation, he had unlimited stamina, and no need to eat, drink or even sleep. Eventually he stopped outside a rather plain looking shop, a general store. Just because he didn't need to eat, doesn't mean he didn't want to. But now, he wasn't even sure if it was physically possible for him. Afterall, wasn't his body made of shadows? Worth a try.

Despite the stuffy look of the building, Jaune still felt cold. This was one of the only sensation he had left, the feeling of ice cold 'skin?'. But he was used to it now. The building wasn't that large, yet it had all sorts of items in it.

Currently only two other people were in the store. The cashier was an older, tired looking man. The cashier was reading what appeared to be a book. Jaune remembered what a book was of course, but he hadn't seen one in four years.
The other person was a young girl. From what he could guess, she appeared to be in her mid-teens. She had short, black hair and was wearing a mostly red costume. Her eyes were closed as she stood against a shelf, listening to music through headphones.

Turning his attention back to the goods, Jaune spotted a shelf of chocolates. He couldn't even remember what chocolate taste like. Quickly he went over and grabbed a bar. If either the girl or cahier had been looking, they would have seen the chocolate bar vanish as soon as Jaune picked it up.

Slowly, barely managing to contain his excitement, Jaune unwrapped the food. The golden-brown treat seemed to hypnotise him as he just stood there, staring at it for a good few minutes. He did not even notice the robbery that started to take place behind him.
He bought the chocolate to his face and the food disappeared into the red outlined mouth. And...
There was no taste. Even after everything he had experienced, the world had decided to screw him over and remove his ability to taste!? In anger the Axe appeared in his hands and he swung it and the shelving. The metal stand crumpled under the sheer might of his swing, the contents it held flying in all directions.

He turned around, anger emanating from him like a physical light. His anger quickly changed direction when he noticed the armed men. The cashier was held at gun point, an orange haired, bowler hat man commander the other few members.
One of the men was right in the red girl's face, waving a gun in a threatening manner. Jaune's rage began to become overwhelming, and for once, the armed man felt the dangerous aura. Yet just as Jaune was about to charge the man, the girl kicked them out the shop window, unfolding a massive scythe.

While immediately relieved that the girl could defend herself, the sight of that massive scythe bought back some nasty memories. Namely that of Specimen 12, and the blade wielding puppet it controlled.
But Jaune still felt angry. And what better way to take that anger out than on the few robbers that remained in the shop. Their leader was running from Red – the new name that he came up with, one that the bowler hat man took. It was his idea in the first place.
