The stars shine from the sky. So big that you could look at them from anywhere. They seem so close that you might think you can grab them. You can't hear the wind as usual. It was quiet. Smooth dead silent. Except the squeaking of indoor shoes, the bounce of the balls and three identical words: "Hey! Hey! Hey!". The gym door was open. You might think the volleyball players in there must be cold. But no. They felt the fulfilled life.

Actually, snow should have fallen long ago, but it didn't. The Little Crystals that are supposed to fall from the sky seem to stay up this winter. The laughter of young people echoes through the streets.Just like set: "We will make it to the National Championships.", "Run fast Bokuto-san. You give us food." Or "Yes! Yes! You're so mean."

Kōtarō Bokuto. The ace of Fukurōdani Academy has always been lively. You can describe it as follows: >loud<, >Sometimes debressive< or even >quick-tempered<. He is known throughout Japan, as the captain of his school and as one of the top aces in Japan. But also for his emo-mode or his "Hey! Hey! Hey!".

"Can I ask you something Bokuto-san?"

The 1st grader was afraid to ask. He had been warned never to ask. But he summoned up his courage and did it. He wanted to know what was behind it.

"Of course!"

Kōtarō looked at him with a big smile, but it died when he heard her ask. A sad façade stole onto his face. The mask he had built up over the year is starting to crumble.

"Why always Hey! Hey! Hey!"

The older students froze. An unsettling silence falls over them.

"Sorry Bokuto-san. I wouldn't-"

But he was interrupted.

"Everything okay, Kōtarō?" asked none other than his best friend Keiji Akaashi. Only now did the 1st grader notice the tears running down the cheeks of the 3rd grader.

"All good. I'll tell you. The third and maybe the second graders know. You still know she. But you don't. It all started at the beginning of my second year. Where I fell in love for the first time..."
