I thought about everything that had happened that day and all the things the voices had said as usual before I went to bed. I always thought about the ending of a day and how it turned out too. I eventually thought myself into a dream.
'Run!' Someone yelled at me as I heard a blood curdling scream after, along with the sounds of someone's feet patting against the- water? I looked under my feet to see that my dream world self was standing on water as well. I lifted a foot and looked behind me again as the sounds of the feet patting against the water grew louder. WAS he getting closer? I couldn't tell. I was looking through fog and squinting to try and see. I looked in the other direction and squinted.
Land. I ran towards the shore and didn't look back. I didn't want to look back. I wasn't going to look back. I ran with my eyes closed, but I felt like I wasn't going anywhere. I felt like I was stuck running in one spot. The feet behind me where moving at a faster tempo and sounded as if they were still growing closer and closed to me.
Land. I tripped on a rock at shore and hit my head on the wet sand. I knew I was a goner. He was going to kill me. I fluttered my eyes; opened, closed, opened, closed. That was the last thing I did and I saw the feet stand by my head with that final close. I waited for something to happen.
'Goodbye,' his smooth deep voice showered over me before I felt a sharp pain to my ribs- a kick? I rolled over and felt the same pain to the back of my head. Was he kicking me? I tried to sit up- closed eyes and pained body. He stepped on the hand that was holding my weight up as the other was massaging the back of my head. Blood. I opened my eyes and saw the blood on my fingers from my head. 'Just do it!' I found myself looking at this tall handsome male. He was muscular with a wet shirt and frayed bluejeans. 'Do it!' I heard myself scream more again as he pointed a gun at me. He looked away. I tried to stand, but my legs were exhausted from the running and my body was tired from the panic and fear. I kept collapsing until- he pulled the trigger. I lied there on the ground in his arms. The world slowed down as I heard him let out a blood curdling scream.
What was happening? I stood in a far spot behind him. Wondering what was happening. I came closer and as I did I saw and felt what the dead girl was feeling; the world slowing down. I heard the last tear hit the wet sand as it quietly hit the sand. I heard her last breathe as she lied there and took it in and let it out, and just like that- she was gone.
I went closer to see him holding her and as I saw who she was, I realized- she's me.
