A path of light through the dark void of depression

Your mind is like a dark void, and your sanity, a path of light for you to follow through that void. If you stay on the path your mind is at peace, but when something happens to you. Something traumatic. It throws you off that path, into the dark void of depression, anxiety, and mental disarray. From within the darkness you can no longer see the lit path. You become lost in the never ending shadows.
And sometimes it takes someone else to come along, on their own path of light, and lead you back to yours. To help you out of that darkness and depression. Sometimes that person is to late, and when they come along on their path to help, that person in darkness has already passed on.
I just hope I'm not to late for you!
