Masae had woken up her daughter early on Sunday. She wanted Katana to get ready properly, that included make-up and dressing up.

That's why Katana stood in the dining room pulling on her dress' sleeves and edge. The young woman hated wearing dresses with passion just as she did with make-up.

"Smile Katana," Masae said and glanced at her daughter.

Katana stopped pulling on her clothes and straightened her posture, forcing a tight smile on her face and looking at her mother. She wanted this breakfast to be over quickly so that she could go back home to Bokuto.

Soon, the doorbell rang and the family of three walked into the foyer to greet their guests personally.

A maid opened the door and Katana immediately recognised the two people that entered. She had seen them quite often when she was little.

They both had suits on just like her father. The older man was shorter than Kenji but had broad shoulders and grey hair. His face was covered in wrinkles but he certainly had a warmer aura than her parents.

He smiled immediately and greeted the three warmly. That was the first time Katana genuinely smiled and bowed at the man. "Welcome Suzuki-san."

"Please, Katana dear. No need to be so formal," he said and put a hand on her shoulder. "You have grown into a beautiful woman."

She sent him another small smile as he greeted her parents. Katana came face to face with his son Tadashi. He hadn't changed a lot, but he certainly became more handsome. His black hair still had a bluish tone when light shone on it and his blue eyes still had the same warm glint in them.

"Hi Katana, long time no see," he said and smiled.

Katana blushed slightly. She took her earlier statement back, he changed a lot. Tadashi was not the same boy she had played with when she was little. His voice was a lot deeper than she remembered. His face had changed from soft to having sharp features and he had grown as well. He must be almost as tall as Bokuto.

"Hi, Tadashi," she said and gulped. Even though he was only two years older than her, he seemed so much more mature than her.

He pulled out an envelope and handed it to her. "I heard you like volleyball. And since I didn't know what to get you, I thought this would do. Happy birthday," he said with that stupid half smile of his.
