HARLEYS POV

"delia?" i asked as i walked into the house delia and i shared. it still smelt weird - a little like weed; a little like cinnamon - and was a bit older, but you couldn't tell. the owners before delia had painted right before it sold, so it seemed new. we got the couches at second hand shops, but it didn't make a difference.

my eyes looked across the room, to land on delia. she was laying on the leather couch, hands on her stomach and her face staring blankly at the ceiling.

"harleyyy," she whined, letting herself fall onto the wood floor. i couldnt help but laugh a little, unhooking butter and stepping over to her to get her up.

i kicked off my shoes. "what's wrong? you typically dont ask where i am, let alone come home on a friday."

"i ran out of drinking money for this month," she blurt out quickly. i sighed, rolling my eyes as i made my way to the kitchen. "i was wondering," she continued, "if i could just borrow some mon-"

"no," i said, looking up from the fridge, "steal some from a frat party or something."

i grabbed a bottle of vitamin water, followed by delia as i walked down the hall to our bathroom.

she leaned against the wall beside the bathroom door, watching me get a towel. "do you have school today?"

"no - it's a saturday."

"oh," she said, tapping her chin, "work, then?"

i looked at her, rolling my eyes, "no, i haven't found a new job yet. i told you that."

delia looked around, looking down at her phone, "could you go grocery shopping, then?"

"you have a guy coming over, don't you?"

she shrugged.

letting out a sigh, i started my shower. "sure, i'll go adventure or some shit."

MICHAELS POV

when harley walked away, i noticed that the underneath of her hair was dyed a dark red, and that made me smile a little. she reminded me of harley quinn - not just because of her name. as an avid lover of comics and video games, that was a plus. she walked like her and sorta looked like her, honestly. my thoughts were focused on her, her pug, and her bright blue eyes on the way home.

i stopped at the convenient store on the corner before my house, hands in my pockets. its was mostly empty, which i silently mouthed thank you as i walked through. i headed straight for the energy drinks, grabbing a monster. my eyes went to the floor as i sat it down on the counter, flipping out my wallet as the cashier muttered some total. i handed him a five, and he handed me some one dollar bills and two quarters. i nodded, smiled, and left.

it was getting hot fast, like a normal day in australia. i open my can of unhealthy energy drink and took a swig, shoving my phone and wallet into my shorts. the bright sun made me squint as i started my short walk home.

everyone's car, except mine, was gone. the front door was unlocked, and as i stepped in, i was met with a half naked luke hemmings.

"oh, hey, michael," he said casually taking a bite of the piece of toast he had in his hand.

i looked him up and down, furrowing my eyebrows as i shut the door, shaking my head softly. "why are you here?"

"oh, i came by on my way to the studio."

"that doesn't explain why you're shirtless," i pointed out, going into the kitchen. it was 9:57 according to the clock - studio time was at 10:30.

he rolled his eyes, following me, "it got hot. plus, it's not like you don't randomly walk around naked."

i let out a sigh. "can't argue with that," i took a sip of the monster, "hey, did you notice anyone moving in about a month ago?"

luke thought for a moment, taking an apple from the basket on the counter. "i...think so. people move in and out a lot around here, though," he took a bite out of it, "why?"

"met a girl," i smiled a little as i turned around, sitting the can down as i leaned against a the counter, "said she moved in a month and a half ago," he raised in eyebrow, "blonde hair, red underneath and on the ends."

"oh, oh! the girl with the pug," i nodded, "she moved in with the girl who's always at parties...delia r-something."

"rydel?"

"mm, yeah, rydel."

i nodded slowly, pursing my lips after finishing off my monster, tossing the can in the trash as i walked by. that made me question if harley, herself, was a "party girl." she didn't seem like the type.

"her name is harley," i said, "by the way."

luke chuckled and took a bite of the apple he had picked up. he shook his head as he spoke, "i didn't ask, but alright."

i smiled a little. "what? don't you think she's cute?"

"i mean," he swallowed a different bite of the fruit, "she is really cute, but..."

"but?"

he shrugged, getting up. i rolled my eyes and watched him put his shirt on, fixing his hair. as i walked out of the house, he checked in the mirror before following me out. i climbed into my car, luke getting into the passenger seat. he instantly went to look through my collection of cds thrown into the pouch in between the two seats. i concentrated on not hitting anyone in or around the road as he slipped in the foo fighters greatest hits. this didn't surprised me. luke had been listening to them for about a week constantly.

i preferred nirvana.
