ㅤㅤTODOROKI Shōto's appearance probably told a lot more about him than he could ever possibly want. ( Which is something that would gain him scorning looks, judging him for taking for granted from who he was born to but if they knew, if only they knew. ) It was his appearance that foretold a story of success, his name wholy irrelevant; he was unpolished, shapeless scraps of discarded metal to melt down into a golden trophy. Granted that there were people worse off than him in regards of appearances, who had mutation quirks, who looked and were in no way human as far as appearances went and there were some, still humane but resembled their emitted quirks in the strangest ways possible, even then duo━toned hair as a side effect for an emitter type quirk wasn't as mundane as he wished it to be.

The quickest of online searches would tell anyone that his parents were Endeavour, the great flame hero forcibly stood at number two, and his mother, though details were left unknown, was also an emitter type with a quirk named Frost. Those with common sense should be able to add up these two glaringly obvious points to figure out that their joining was only for a boy like him as the end goal. A boy with mismatched features, the two colours of his hair correlated to the marriage that had happened years previous and the fusion of his parents' quirk that happened within him━ though incomplete. A fusion would be one singular consequence he would have to bear, not two separate creatures residing within him, both with their separate lives, separate desires, and separate repercussions.

Instead, as if mocking him after three unsuccessful trials, Endeavour was given a child that could freely lock up the quirk that came from his DNA and use his mother's at will. Something Todoroki Shōto took great relish in.

Sometimes, as a cruel offhanded thought, Todoroki Shōto wondered what the man would've done if he was like Todoroki Tōya, born with the brightest of red hair, rivalling Enji's. If he were born a beast with an insatiable hunger that would torture those around him in a slow, sadistic manner before eating them whole, leaving behind no remains; if he were born with the cruellest of flames, lighting paths of fire to begin his slow descent into hell, where shades of red would flicker in the wind only to become a spark of blue, erupting from within him along with all his emotions, where hereditary dreams evolved into personal dark desires━ what would his father do? Let him burn? Would he have noticed the warning signs, the slowing of heartbeats and the rising smoke from within the trees?
