Opening your eyes, you felt groggy; the room was dark. It took a while for your eyes to adjust to the darkness, then you remembered you were still at Keigo's. He wasn't on the couch anymore, and you had a blanket over your body.

"Keigo?" You called out as you got up and started to look around to see if he was still around. You walked down the hallway looking in open rooms; there was no sign of Keigo anywhere. Finally, you decided to make your way back and go into the kitchen to get yourself some water.

Flicking a light on as you entered the kitchen, you grabbed a glass, sighing. The sound of the sliding glass door made you freeze, was someone in here? It must've been Keigo, right? But why would he leave without waking you up? You heard the door close and footsteps making their way to the kitchen. You felt arms wrap around your middle and a head rest on your shoulder.

"Sorry I left ya here. I had some stuff pop up," Keigo whispered. You could hear how tired he was.

Turning to face him, you smiled, "it's okay. I just woke up." Reassuring the man standing in front of you, rubbing his eyes like a tired child. Taking out your phone, you checked the time, "plus, it's only 7 am. Get some sleep. I'll go get coffee and breakfast." You kissed Keigo's cheek, ushering him off to bed before grabbing your purse and heading out.

Getting into your car, you made it home to get cleaned up and then went off to get coffee and breakfast from one of your favourite cafes. Pulling back into the parking lot of Keigo's building, you stretched, grabbed the coffee and food, then exited your car. You couldn't help but smile as you returned to Keigo's home, opening the door while balancing the drinks and food in your arms. Resting the goods you promised on the dining table, you made your way to what you assumed was Keigo's bedroom. Peeking into the room where you saw Keigo peacefully sleeping on his bed, you made your way over and shook his arm slightly, feeling guilty.

"Hey, I'm back. Time to have some breakfast," you breathed, trying to make this wakeup as lovely as possible for him. He was out for however long dealing with who knows what. But you made sure you took your time at home so he could get at least some sort of sleep in.

Groaning, Keigo pulled you into the bed, catching you off guard. "Five more minutes," he grumbled into your hair. You chuckled, stroking his hair, indulging him in his desire for sleep.

Roughly ten minutes passed before you tried to wake him up again. "Okay, now it's time to get up." You placed a soft kiss on Keigo's lips, which had you greeted with golden eyes staring right at you after you pulled away.

"Alright, I'm up." Keigo sat up, stretching his arms over his head. You smiled as you got off the bed and returned to the dining table. Keigo followed closely behind, reaching for a coffee as he stood behind you with one hand on your hip. "Mm, thank you for the coffee and breakfast." Keigo pressed a tired kiss to your temple, pulling you closer to him.

You couldn't stop yourself from smiling. Everything felt right, and you leaned into Keigo a little more as you handed him a breakfast sandwich.

"You didn't have to do this," Keigo protested as he took the sandwich you kept pushing toward him. Keigo pulled you to the couch so you could laze around and enjoy breakfast and each other's company.

You hummed as you relaxed into the couch, "well, we both know I can't cook, and I wasn't about to watch you microwave something." You lectured Keigo on the importance of eating actual food, and you're pretty sure he wasn't paying attention. But you didn't mind as long as he continued to give you that heart-melting smile. It brought you so much comfort, more than you could ever imagine.

Keigo leaned closer to you, taking a bite of his sandwich, "thanks for taking care of me this morning."

You rolled your eyes, "don't talk with your mouth full," you playfully smacked his shoulder. Keigo leaned back, acting offended, before letting out a chuckle. "Plus, who else is going to take care of you? You're almost as hopeless as me." You teased the blonde man munching away.

Letting out a gasp, Keigo placed his free hand over his heart. "How could you be so cruel to me?"

Laughter filled the apartment, something Keigo never thought would happen. He's always been alone since he became a tool for the commission to use. Nobody knew their hold on him or the things they made him do, even if he didn't want to. Keigo was nervous deep down, not wanting to get you involved. But he knew that it was very likely they were onto the time he'd spent with you; he never was truly alone. There was nothing he wouldn't do to make sure you weren't dragged into things by the commission, and his life wasn't exactly the safest. But for now, he just wanted to stay in this moment, having you in his home, enjoying the simple things.

You were looking over at Keigo, who seemed to be a little vacant after a while. It was clear he was deep in thought, and you weren't sure if you should ask him what was going on in his mind. But you wanted to know everything about him, what made him tick, what his favourite foods and drinks were.

"What are you thinking about?" You hummed as you rested your head on the couch, searching Keigo's face.

Keigo cleared his throat, focusing on you as he spoke. "Just some stuff about work and you, how to keep both separate," Keigo took your hand in his, and his thumb rubbed circles on the back of your hand. "I don't want to drag you into anything you don't need to be involved in," a serious look replaced the relaxed, cocky expression he usually had.

Suddenly his phone started going off; pulling it out of his pocket Keigo stood up promptly, answering it. "Hawks here, whatcha need?" Pacing around the room, Keigo nodded, turning to look at you over his shoulder. You could tell he had to leave. There was an apologetic look on his face. "Alright, I'll be there in no time," he hung up his phone, sliding it back into the pocket of his hero costume.

"You've gotta go, don't you?" You murmured. "I'll get going."

"Yeah, I do, but... stay here, please." Keigo sounded desperate. You'd never heard him like this before, so you simply nodded and watched as he relaxed. "Thank you," Keigo quickly pressed his lips against yours before getting his visor, gloves, jacket, and headphones. Once he was ready, he opened the sliding glass door, turning to face you. "I'll come back to you in one piece, I promise," Keigo gave you a cocky smile before shutting the door and flying off to wherever he was needed in the city.

You let out a sigh once he was out of sight. While he promised he'd be back in one piece, you couldn't help but worry, and he had come to your place pretty beat up. But, you knew that he'd come back to you.
