Max's POV:
I got ready within the 2 hours and was in my way back to El's house. I knocked on the door but nobody answered so I just walked in, the door wasn't locked anyway.
"Will just pick a shirt!" El shouted from upstairs.
I laughed, "El, I'm here!" I said.
"Hey Max!" El said, reappearing from Will's room and sliding down the stair banister.

"Hey." I said, we hugged for a few seconds before she eventually pulled away. El ran back upstairs and I frowned at new found coldness in my body. I felt so warm and safe in El's arms.

I ignored the feeling and walked upstairs too, I went into Will's room to see him trying on a simple black shirt and white jacket.
"El, I hate it!" Will moaned.
"You look good Will! Now hurry up before we're late." El said, standing near his bed.
I looked at all the clothes on the floor. "How many outfits have you tried on Will?!" I asked.
"Enough to make me go crazy." El groaned, "Come on!" She said to Will as he rushed to tie his laces.
"You're worse than Mum!" Will shouted as El huffed and left the room. I watched as she went downstairs and opened the door.
"I'll wait for you guys outside!" She shouted before walking out and shutting the door behind her.

Will let out a breath. "God mummy El is a nightmare." He groaned before walking out the room too.
Heat rise to my cheeks as he said that, ugh how immature am I? I quickly followed behind him and we both headed out onto the street.
"Ok, let's go." El said, already beginning to walk.
"Wait, how far is Suzie's?" Will asked.
"Only like 10 minutes walk, she lives near Dustin." El answered, slowing down slightly so she could walk beside me.
"Which is perfect in his eyes." I joked, "He's totally got a crush on her!"
The siblings laughed, "Tell me about it! He's never even told her either." El said.

"Sometimes it's hard to tell your crush you like them." Will said.
"I guess, but there's nothing to lose right?" El asked.
"Sometimes. Other times it'll be embarrassing or might get spread across the school." I answered.
"So? At least you'll be known as the girl who had the guts to confess." El shrugged.
"That is true." I said, considering what she just said.
"Anyone here have a crush?" El asked out of nowhere.
I was caught off guard, did I have a crush? Did I have a crush on... El? No, she's my best friend, as well as also having a boyfriend. "Uh, no. I don't." I answered nervously.

"Oh." El said, her voice having a hint of disappointment in it. "Will?" She asked.
Blush rose to his cheeks, "Yeah..." He said.
"What?!" El and I screamed at the same time. We both burst out laughing.
"You have to tell us!" El said.
"Yeah! Is it a girl? A boy? We don't mind." I said, just in case it was a boy or something.
Will's eye lit up, "You really don't mind? You'll still be my friends?" He asked.
"Of course Will!" I said, hugging him.
"We're stuck with you." El joked, a mischievous but cute grin on her gorgeous face. Uh... that's not gay. I'm not gay.
"Hey! You just wait!" Will said, chasing El who was now running away.

I chased after them, laughing. Eventually Will caught up to El and picked her up so she couldn't run anymore.
"Oi! Let me down!" El shouted, her legs not able to touch the ground.
I laughed and El noticed. "Don't act like you're not shorter than me Miss Mayfield." She said.
"I'm not the one in the air." I shrugged, still smiling. Will finally let El down and she immediately ran to me and lifted me up onto her back.
"What the...?" I asked, not even having enough time to comprehend what the hell just happened.
"Now you're the one I'm the air." El said smugly, holding my thighs so I wouldn't fall.
"That's cheating. I wanna go on your shoulders." I said.
"Fine. Climb up." She said.

I did what she told me to and climbed onto her shoulders. She put her hands a bit higher, and a blush formed on my cheeks. Will looked at me and must've noticed, since he smirked. "How long do we have?" I asked.
"Uhh... 10 minutes. We're only 10 minutes away, we'll be fine." Will assured, putting his phone back into his pocket.

We talked along the way, El keeping me on her shoulders the whole journey. We arrived and El let me down before knocking on the door. Suzie opened it and we saw the lights and the music. It smelt like alcohol and a mixture of other weird party things.
At least half the school was here, either dancing around with cups in their hands, or making out in the corner.

This is gonna be a hell of a party.
