<y/n's pov>

Somehow Harper convinced me that going to this party would make me feel better.

We both got ready and I actually felt really pretty.

I knew Jacob was gonna be there and the last thing I wanted was to see him drunk or something.

We arrived at the party and walked in.

Immediately Harper and I found our friend and started talking.

I glanced to my left and saw some girl dancing on Jacob.

My stomach turned and I didn't know what to do.

Is that why he wanted a break? So he could dance with other girls without feeling guilty.

He was already looking at me and all I did was smile.

I quickly looked away and went back to the conversation.

I wanted to leave.

We had already been here for about an hour and Harper went to get a drink.

"Look who's here" Harper smiled pulling Jay towards me.

"Oh hi Jay" I smiled.

"Hey y/n" he said shoving Harpers hand off.

"How have you been?" I asked.

"Good. Great actually, I'm going to rehab. I'm trying to get sober" he smiled.

I couldn't help but smile back.

"That's amazing" I said.

"Yeah. After what I did that day I realized I have to stop drinking mot just for me but my family you know" he said.

"That's really good to hear" I smiled.

We all talked for about thirty minutes just laughing and talking about the most random things.

"I missed that" Jay said.

"Missed what?" I asked.

"Your laugh." He replied as he tucked my hair behind my ear.

As much as I didn't want to

I blushed.

And I guess Jacob noticed because he immediately got up and left, leaving that girl alone.

She could care less though. She found another guy within seconds.

I turned my attention back to Jay who was already looking at me.

"Really?" I questioned.

"How could I not" he smiled.

Harper gave me that look and walked off.

"Wanna talk somewhere else?" He asked.

I hesitated before agreeing.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

He was leading me somewhere with my hand in his.

We were still in the house but away from everyone else.

"Right here" he said as he opened a door revealing a balcony that overlooked the lit up pool.

"How'd you know this was here?" I asked looking at the backyard.

"Who's party did you think you were at" he smirked.

I turned to him confused.

"Wait this is your place?" I asked.
