Snapper now frozen in place staring up at the large creature. It has a calm expression but sinister yellowish eyes stare into Snappers. Their pelt is similar to a sand-snake as its greyish-tan coat blows in the wind, this was a terrible time for a storm to be kicking up now. The massive creature's ears slanted upwards as its long grayish black tail swishes back and forth, the markings on its face and body are like a smokey black as it covers the upper part of his face and gives it a saddle as if it was a Sable German Shepherd. As it approaches Snapper, he just shut his eyes tight and hoped for the best. This time Lucky wouldn't be there to help him.

"What are you doing out here alone." The creature said. It had a deep voice, but it was also a bit raspy in nature. Snapper stumbled backwards a bit, on edge. The creature simply gives him a head nod and laughs as if this was just casual greetings, then suddenly it lowered its maw to speak. "My names Blackhawk, pleasure to meet you." For the most part Blackhawk seemed friendly but now that the rain had started pouring, if it decided to attack. Nobody would find Snapper's remains in the forest. The young dog on guard from the stranger decides to finally say something to it instead of just being weird. "W-what are you?" The mass and height of the creature was that of a deer or even a moose. "I'm a wolf. Surprised?" Blackhawk says in a bit of a mocking tone, his eyes fixated on the young male before him. "You're really small you know?" The wolf sneers before circling Snapper. Snapper had taken offense to the remark as the wolf had mutant size and he was perfectly normal. Though, he didn't say anything to Blackhawk in fear of those massive teeth that hang from his maw.

The rain that was pelting down on them was starting to pick up quite a bit as the wind was howling in a mighty rage. The leaves blew off the trees and it was like the world had went dull, everything was in turmoil as lightning ripped through the sky and striking down trees. Blackhawk was the first to make a move while the storm had started going haywire, his eyes shifted up to the sky and then down at Snapper. "Come on dog, get moving!" He snapped as he now motioned for Snapper to follow, and he did that as quickly. Snapper was following the mysterious wolf and he could see that while following him he left massive paw prints 3x the size of his own. The young pup shuddered at the size but carried on as it sounded like a herd of cattle was running through the forest. The misty blue aura around the forest was frightening as he couldn't see ahead of him and was just relying on a stranger.

Suddenly, Blackhawk stopped in his tracks startling Snapper, "We're here. Make yourself at home." Blackhawk motions his head to a large spacious den, big enough for the both of them to share but would likely mean they would be pressed together. Snapper examined the inside of the den, and it had a fair amount of space for the both of them though they would still be bunched up together. Snapper sighed in relief as the thunder had started to get more violent, the cracking and the light streaks illuminated the dark sky as Blackhawk nudged Snapper to go in the cave. "Get in dog!" Blackhawk ordered. Snapper yelped and dove into the den which Blackhawk followed. They were very close together since Blackhawk was massive compared to Snapper, but they managed. They watched things blow by the leaves and flowers getting picked up by their roots and surging off into the sky. Was this perhaps a tornado? Snapper watched with fear as the wind howled violently. Their fur was blowing by the sheer intensity of it. Blackhawk watched with a blank stare as he watched from the den, Snapper whimpered and covered his face with his paws to which Blackhawk responded by wrapping his tail around him. "It's alright little dog, you'll be okay." Blackhawk tried to confront Snapper a little bit, but it honestly did nothing, so they waited in silence until the storm passed by.

It calmed down a bit, not a lot. Still raining heavily. After a while though it made a lot of mud. Blackhawk was the first one to leave the den as he looked out. He then tried to squeeze out, but the mud was making it hard. he groaned thrashing around until he managed to free himself. he sighed in relief now covered in mud. A bit annoying but he could manage, he then waited for Snapper, but he was a bit confused why he wasn't coming. He poked his muzzle through the hole and yelled for Snapper, "It's safe enough to leave dog! You can come up!" He waited but there was no reply. Blackhawk frowned and re-entered the den to find a shaking Snapper. The wolf's eyes softened as he sat in front of Snapper waiting for him to get back up, "Come on... you're safe now. There's less wind now, okay?" He reassured nudging Snapper with his muzzle, but Snapper was still trembling in fear, "The... wind... it's so strong... it was... I-. I don't know." The mutt's ears pinned back, and he turned away from Blackhawk who was still waiting on him. Blackhawk sighs and lays beside him, "I understand you're scared... but you can't stay here... you must come up. The mud is already started to seep into the den." Blackhawk noted as mud started to come from the entrance slowly flooding the den. Snapper cried out and turned away from him, "I almost... died! No way! No way-!" But was quickly cut off by Blackhawk. "You have to leave before you drown in mud."

Snapper's eyes fluttered back open to stare at the male wolf, he did not know what to do. if he stayed, the entrance would be overtaken by mud, and he would certainly die. But if he left what if the storm picked back up? They'd be in more danger! Snapper looked up at Blackhawk who still held the soft gaze. He thought for a moment pondering before looking back at him. "Alright... Lead the way Blackhawk."

Blackhawk grinned and then lead him out. He got stuck again but he freed himself easily this time. The mud getting in his eyes as he thrashed around, it burned but he should be fine as he pawed at his eyes. Wiping it away. He then waited for Snapper to emerge which he did. Though his legs getting stuck into the mud. It filled his nostrils as he struggled to breathe through the thickness. Blackhawk noticed his struggle and pulled him out with ease plopping him down on the soaked ground. Snapper choked and coughed, and Blackhawk patted him on the back with his beefy paws which Snapper started to regurgitate the mud he swallowed. "T-thanks..." Snapper heaved and stared up with Blackhawk with a kind look. "No problem dog- Oh! I almost forgot, what's your name?"

"It's Snapper. Snapper Ol' Snap!" Snapper replied now getting back up. he looked around at his surroundings, trees were knocked over, debris filling the land, and death. Death filled the land as he smelt the countless corpses of animals. He then looked back at the den they were hiding in; it was quickly overtaken by mud. He shuddered as he wondered what would have happened if Blackhawk hadn't motivated him with his kindness to leave the den. The wolf watched him curiously slapping him on the head with his tail which Snapper recoiled, "Hey!" Blackhawk chuckled, "You should stop worrying~" "How did you know?" "Staring off into space, you know... you are very readable." The wolf joked and Snapper huffed. "Well Blackhawk, does this mean we're friends?" Snapper asked curiously as Blackhawk had a look of surprise, "Friends?" "Yeah friends!" Blackhawk pondered for a moment.

"Well, if you want to be friends. Let's do it!" Blackhawk said enthusiastically, Snapper grinned at his response.

"I agree with that statement! Okay, Snapper and Blackhawk! The dynamic duo!" Snapper eagerly said wagging his tail.

"Yeah, a wolf and dog. A very interesting duo!" Blackhawk replied.

"Let's call ourselves the Canine Warriors!" The mutt said, play-bowing a bit.

"Let's not give ourselves a shitty name." The wolf chuckled a bit, responding to the play-bow with his own.

"Language!" Snapper frowned at Blackhawk's profanity.

"Alright sorry." Blackhawk rolled his eyes and then they ran off to play in the disastrous environment. Forgetting about all of their worries and just having a good time. Finally, Snapper had made a friend. A partner, a companion and a good one at that. He felt so happy to have Blackhawk in his life. Someone who could finally understand him, someone who wouldn't bully him or push him away. He felt so good.

Blackhawk also felt the same way, his father never was too keen on packing with dogs from other packs and would stick to his own territory. He never got along with the other canines in his territory due to his frightening status and his cold attitude that made others stray away from him. But for Blackhawk, having a sunshine friend like Snapper just... made his life ten times better already. They frolicked and played until Snapper brought up something, "Hey, can you teach me how to hunt~?" Blackhawk was a bit confused, "Now? In this state?" "We're already camouflaged by the mud, aren't we?" "Good point but..." "Please?" Snapper pleaded with puppy dog eyes making Blackhawk sigh. "Alright... I'll teach you... now let's go!"

And with that they ran off to find some prey.
