Canyon Lake UPDATES/INFO (start here)

Canyon Lake is a state, the starting place of a universe that has lived in my head forever. Every character I've ever written lives here or is somehow related. The state is home to several towns(duh), and many types of creatures and unusual people have found a home in this quite beautiful region. It's big, but not proportionally. sorry.

It's also fantasy so I will warn you of that. the beautiful part is that it truly is an entire universe... there is a major city and a university, and there used to be this really cool research center. 

Canyon Lake is currently sitting in the beginning days of the 2000s, but back in the '50s/'60s, it was THE place to be. full of tourists and for every right reason. there was a huge sense of community all based around their love and devotion to the moon, and what that meant in their religious lives. but of course, we can't have a good thing. I suppose that's where we pick up with Monty, and where most of the story revolves.

My hope with Canyon Lake is to release things in a more artistic style than just my writing. The goal is for people to piece together the history on their own time, and the more you care, the more you'll know, in terms of people and history. But it should be totally enjoyable as a casual viewer too. I aim for mainly zines, to add art and documents around my writing to make it as immersive as possible. With that, I also have goals for animations, full novels, and hopefully a video game(which I've done before, so this can't be too far-fetched!). The documents and papercraft is my favorite part. I'm trying for a style that was if you almost picked apart the style of Telltale games and separated it. Realistic, yet with a cartoony vibe. I guess we'll see how I do.

Anyways, I'm willing to answer any questions abt the universe, state, anything. In hopes of keeping things immersive, I'm trying to keep the real talk on my accounts and blog like this, and story-related stuff on CL accounts or the news section will be updated fairly consistently, and the more curious you are, the more you will be rewarded <3and big thanks to anyone who reads or views anything I create. it means the world !!!
