Chapter One
——Estelle's POV——
"Come to decide that the things that I tried... Sorry about that, that's a verse for a new song I'm working on. Anyways! Dear new diary, hey, it's me, Estelle Munson. Here are some things you should know about me; I'm 14 years old, me and my brother (Eddie) live with our uncle (Uncle Wayne), we're both in this sick band (Corroded Coffin) and I'm the lead singer, and lastly, I'm starting high school today!" I wrote down in my diary before I looked over at my brother's bed and noticed he was already awake.
I quickly shoved my diary back into the crevice between my bed and the wall, so even if Eddie tried to read it, he couldn't get it.
"Estelle, so you know that you're stuck with me for the whole day basically, right?" Eddie said to me.
"I know, I know, but now that I'm at your school does that finally mean that I can join Hellfire?" I asked him excitedly.
"Good thing you brought that up, because I have a gift for you. Wait!" Eddie said sounding way too happy.
Eddie got on the floor and pulled a box out from underneath his bed. My mind started to wonder, what did he get me? Was it something dumb? Was it a piece of paper that said 'fuck you'? No, he wouldn't do that, I mean, I'm his little sister, I'm 14 and he's 19, and if he did that to me I would just go snitch on him to Uncle Wayne.
When I had snapped back to reality I saw that he had opened the box and handed me what he was rummaging around for. And that's when I saw it, my very own Hellfire shirt! I got off my bed and hugged Eddie tight.
"Hey man! You're suffocating me!" Eddie said jokingly as he peeled me off of him.
"Oh shut up! We both know it takes a lot more to hurt a Munson..." as those words left my lips I froze, did I remind him of what happened before we were with Uncle Wayne.
As I sat in my puddle of shame I accidentally completely ignored my brother. I didn't bother to even look at him for a moment to see if he was okay. I mean, how could little old me help my 19 year old brother, and it's not like I could get Uncle Wayne, he's out on a business trip right now.
"Were in my life just to get high on" Eddie said softly to me, as if he knew it was going to bring me back down to earth in a sense.
"What?" I said while lightly laughing under my breath.
"I don't know, I just heard it on that cassette tape you're always listening to. Other than that, I really have no reason" he responded with.
I turned my head back to the Hellfire shirt, my Hellfire shirt. The shirt I've been stealing from my brother ever since he let me play in his summer campaign.
"Sooo, are you gonna try the shirt on, or are you just gonna stare at it like a creepy guy in Walmart?" Eddie asked me, we was clearly joking about the Walmart creep thing, but if anyone in this family was a Walmart creep, it would definitely be him.
I rolled my eyes at Eddie as I took the shirt and what I had originally had planned to wear today into the bathroom and locked the door behind me. I know that Uncle Wayne or Eddie would never do anything to me, but some wounds don't heal with time, especially when it's your own father...
Once I made sure the door was locked, I took off my pajamas and got changed into my school clothes. I put on my new Hellfire shirt, a blue flannel, and a comfortable pair of black jeans.
After that I walked back into the bedroom and started to load everything I needed for today into my backpack. I put in my Walkman, some cassette tapes (a few Metallica, some Kiss, two Kate Bush, and my own song that I recorded with some of the Corroded Coffin guys), a pencil case, and a binder with tons of paper and six dividers for my classes.
