y/n POV.

I wake up to the sound of my blasting alarm ringing through my ears. Why the fuck does apple make it so loud?! Groggily I reach over to shut the madness off. 4:45am it read. Great. Rubbing my eyes and running my hands through my messy morning mane, I attempt to sit up and get motivated for the day ahead.

*flashback to 3 days ago*
"y/n please! please, please, please come with me!!!" my best friend begged.
"Jesy, I don't know, I'm just not that interested. Especially in a setting like that."

By day, Jesy worked at Picture in Picture, her local movie theatre. And by night.. well, let's just say she has no chill. She is obsessed with all things TV and movies. Right now, her current obsession is the upcoming, yes you heard that right.. upcoming TV series on Netflix, Wednesday. She LOVES Jenna Ortega and almost never shuts up about her. Personally, I don't have time to be invested in people like that. I'm so focused on my job and external hobbies. I will only do research on someone when it comes to my work.

"y/n this is a ONCE IN A LIFETIME OPPORTUNITY!" she dramatically expressed to me. "please, please, please come with me to the airport? just to get a glimpse of them when they arrive. You know they're holding that big premier for the release of the show but I stand exactly..." she paused and calculated in the air "... zero percent chance of getting into the premier." she was pacing around her room like she has had too much coffee or something. "and you want me to come with you, why?" I said, starting to get too comfortable on her bed. Jesy rushes over to me and shakes me whilst saying "because! you're my best friend and we will get to see the whole cast in person! please, I want you there with me." she whines. "okay fine." I answered only so she would get off my back about it and stop shaking me up like a god damn morning smoothie.
thinking more into it, maybe it could benefit my job if I spoke to the right people.
"YAY!! okay, they will be here on Thursday morning EARLY so you better get up" she said with a pep in her voice as she sat down next to me. "it creeps me out how much you know, and I don't even want to ask how. But, fine. I will be there. I gotta bounce now though, work asked me to do overtime tomorrow and of course I said yes." hesitantly I got up and saw myself out. sometimes she is just too much. I love her though and i'd never ask her to change.

*present day*

First things first, I grab my phone and lazily scroll over social media. Then something told me to look at the calendar. Shit. Today is the day and I have to be at the airport in 3 hours. Why am I so good to her?
Being a media journalist for TV and movies wasn't really what I wanted to do, but it kept me in the loop for all things 'pop culture' if you will, meaning I can get an insight to everything behind the scenes as well as the art forms themselves. Outside of work, I dedicated myself to creating songs and songwriting, I also enjoyed writing poetry. But Monroe's paid the bills, so I gave the agency everything I have.

I drag my feet to the bathroom and turn on the shower, letting the steam fill the room and I brush my teeth to rid of the nasty morning breath. 20 minutes pass and i've basically fallen asleep under heaven itself, the warm water. So I snap myself out of it and proceed with my morning routine. I always say that no matter what you're doing, always dress for the occasion because you don't know what opportunity may present itself. So that's exactly what I did and with the spritz of my favorite perfume, I was ready to get out the door. Before I know it, it's 6am. Just as i'm leaving I say goodbye to Max, my cat and grab an apple for the road ahead.

Usually it takes me about an hour to get to Jesy so I always leave earlier than planned to make time for traffic. "T-TIMING, T-TIMING, T-TIMING, ALL ABOUT TIMING, TIMING, TIMING, SIT BACK IN MY CHAIR, RELAXING AND RECLINING, HE HAS NOT A CARE IN THE WORLD, NO IM LYING" ugh singing always makes me feel so good no matter where I am, nothing like an early morning jam session with yourself. Two coffee stops later and some time spent in traffic, I finally make it to my best friends house. I text her to let her know i've arrived and 30 seconds later out walks a bleach blonde, makeup to the 9's, preppy babe that most people call J. To me, she will always be Jesy.
"Gooooood Morning to my best friend" she shouts. I rub the bridge of my nose knowing it's going to be a long day. But what the point in being a party pooper. Something good might come out of it.
Someones hyped up and I know exactly why. I look up and give her 'the look' and on cue "LETS GOOO" leaves our bodies as if we were preparing to take over the world. Upon arriving to the airport we wait patiently for the cast and crew to land. Not a second after we got there however, my phone rings. It's work. Stepping aside out of ear shot of Jesy, I answer the call.
