y/n POV.
*later that day*
It was 2pm. All the interviews were scheduled to take place at King Towers, one of the most famous in the city. As I drive into the location i'm insisted to valet park, courtesy of Monroe, they said they'd cover all the cost. I should just stay here for the weekend, it would make it so much easier than wasting gas, right? Before the valet came over, I grabbed everything I needed. The media pass, my laptop, all the physical paperwork.. and my favorite YSL perfume of course. Handing my keys to the gentleman I headed inside to the lobby. "wow." I thought out loud. This place was beautiful, I couldnt believe what stood before me. Polished black floor, a huge circular rug with low line seating and blue velvet chairs, all facing each other to make it feel super inviting for guests as they waited. The check in counters were to the left of me, and to my right was a restaurant. This place is spectacular. As I made my way over to the desk to ask for directions; I was inhaling such a heavenly sent.. vanilla.. a sexy vanilla. This hotel was too high for my standards, but the sultry feel was perfect for the vibe of Wednesday.
"may I help you ma'am?" the tall man questioned. "hi yes, sorry, I an just taking in this lobby it is phenomenal." I replied still stunned by my surroundings. he chuckled at my response. "ah yes, nothing but the best here at King Towers, we are a five star hotel after all." he winked. Ew. That wasn't very professional. "... great, perfect. to get to the point I am here on behalf of Monroe Agencies as a media rep for some interviews. I was told they were taking place here." I flashed him my pass and showed my paperwork. He inspected things questionably. "you look a little young for the job, but all the press will be held on the second level in our meeting rooms. we have several of them, are you familiar with what room you will be in?"
"uh... room 8 and 9"
"okay, you will need to make your way up the escalators as you head out the lobby, go slightly right and down the hall. all the rooms are numbered so you should find your way easily." he explained. "thank you so much sir. just out of curiosity, are there any rooms available for tonight, through the weekend?"
"I would tell you no because of the VIP guests we have staying with us, but, you are here on business so I shall have a look for you." After several minutes of back and forth he was able to get me a room through the weekend. I paid out of pocket but I will get the company to reimburse me, considering it is for work after all.I made my way up the escalators and down the lush red velvet floor hallway. "room 8.. room 8. here it is, this is it." My first big interview of the day was at 3:30pm, it was only 3 so that allowed me time to get settled and make the space as comfortable as possible for Hunter and Percy. In all honesty I wasn't nervous about interviewing the guys. Before I knew it, they were here. The interview was a breeze and it was no time to make my way to room 9. I packed up my things and headed out the door to the next room. "black doors. nice touch." I said to myself. This room was a lot different to the previous one. It didn't feel like a meeting room at all. As well as the black doors there was black velvet carpet, purple couches and a table to the side. I thought to myself for a second and sprung into action rearranging the furniture. I moved the two couches closer together and dragged the table in between. I set my laptop down, got 3 bottles of water and placed them on the table. This one was going on Youtube so I had to set up the cameras that were left in here for me to work with. I adjusted the lighting, added the backdrop and then sat down and reached for my phone. 4:50pm. Well, that went fast and I barely even have time to catch my breath before Emma and Jenna arrive at 5. I put some music on to try calm my nerves and read over the questions i'd be asking. 10 minutes later there was a faint knock at the door. I panicked. I could feel my heart begin to pound out of my chest. God, why am I so nervous? I yearned for water so I quickly took a sip, drenched myself in perfume, fixed my hair and made my way to the door.
"please god let this go smoothly." I whispered before turning the handle and greeting the two girls who stood before me. "Ladies, please entree" fuck.. why am I so weird? they chuckled before making their presence known in the space. I closed the door behind them and gestured to the couches in the middle of the room. "so after I have already embarrassed myself by only saying 3 words, I should introduce who I am. my name is y/n I work for Monroe Agencies.. not that you care, and i'm here to do this interview with you today. disclaimer before we begin, I did not come up with the questions, so I apologize if it's something you've answered a thousand times."
"don't worry, we're used to it." Emma said. She sported short brown hair, a grey ish overall dress with a white shirt underneath and some converse. I like it. "i'm Emma by the way, it's nice to meet you." she beamed. Yep.. she is just as bubbly in real life as Enid looks in the trailer. "so nice to meet you. please, have a seat make yourself comfortable." with that she sat down on the purple couch. I could see out of the corner of my eye, Jenna standing there just staring at me. So I turned my attention to her. "hi, it's nice to meet you.. again" I spat out. She walks over to me in her strapless brown faux leather mid-con dress and shook my hand. Just like earlier. "hi it's nice to finally meet you.. again y/n. at least I can look into your eyes this time without sunglasses obstructing my view." I laughed nervously. Why the fuck am I so nervous? Ugh let's just face it, she's beautiful. I let go of her hand and guided her to the seat next to Emma. "let's get this interview started, shall we? it's the sole reason you ladies are here today"I hit record on the camera and prepared myself for the interview. Picking my paper up, I began. "I hear that Nevermore is a school for all outcasts. so my question, first to you Emma would be, if you were an outcast, what type of outcast would you be?"
"well without giving too much away about my character.. who I love. apart from her abilities, id probably want to be psychic. I like telekinesis, so id probably want to be that. I feel like that would be really fun." I appreciate her thorough answer. And turn to Jenna. "what about you Jenna? what type of outcast would you want to be?"
"for me.. hmm. there are these characters in the show who are just in the background" she turns to Emma "remember those people in the back of our shot when we were doing the walkthrough?"
"oh yeah yeah, the faceless people." Emma states.
"yes! the people without faces, gosh Tim loved them, he was like 'them, get them here I want them in this shot" she laughs "so to answer your question y/n id love to be the outcasts with no faces."
"that certainly was an interesting answer and I cant wait to spot out the scene you are talking about when I finally get to watch the show. next question. what do you think about this world? this new version of the addams family that is different from the previous iterations?"
Jenna looks at me with upmost attention when I speak, her face resting on the palm of her hand like she's in absolute awe. Emma is the first to answer, and Jenna continues to look at me.
"Well I think the first thing is that it's mostly centered around Wednesday" Jenna snaps out of her daydream and focuses her attention to Emma ".. because we've never really seen her as the lead character before and it's following her and her journey through high school. and I also like that it's kind of integrating the addams family into modern society. like this is clearly the 21st century and it's funny to see them, kind of, interact with the modern world, if you would say."
"awe that was a really good answer Em, i'm proud of you." Jenna pretends to wipe a tear and then she laughs and grabs Emma's hand to hold it. Emma continues to say her answer and speaks directly to Jenna. "well you were really passionate about this character and you put in the hard work, I think that's really going to show." she blushes and squeezes Jenna's hand for affirmation. Are they like.. a thing? My brain is highly confused, but I cant mistake a strong platonic friendship for something it's not. No reason to feel any type of jealousy here. Jenna catches wind of my mood and turns to me with a smirk. Can I help her? Is she okay? I'm trying to be professional here. "I love her" Jenna states about Emma. The interview continues with laughs and lots of purposely directed looks at me from Jenna, leaving me baffled as to what's going on."Well thank you guys, I think that was great. You both answered the questions in depth and didn't give me nothing to work with, so that will show up great on my report back at the agency." I laugh nervously. "I hope I made you feel comfortable and it really was an honor speaking with the two of you today, congrats ahead of time on all the future success of the series"
"thank you so much" they both said in unison. Standing from my seat I adjusted myself and ushered them to the door. "thank you again" I extended my hand to shake both of their and they accepted. "and thank you again" Emma said. "will you be at the premier tonight? I feel as if we just said so much and so little at the same time, you have to see it now!" She added.
"I don't think so, i'd have to check my schedule, but if I am, i'll see you both there i'm sure"
"i'd love to see you again." Jenna spoke quietly before they both exited the room. Not knowing much about Jenna Ortega before all of this, I still feel as if she is a mystery to me. But after all the suggestive looks, winks and what she just left on, I feel like I have to get to know her better. There's just something about her.
I looked over my email that Leigh had sent to me earlier this morning and indeed I am needed at the premier tonight. Let the stress begin.Author Notes:
That is the end of Chapter 2!
Still in kind of an introductory phase but I promise you the story is going to evolve, just stay with me here!what's going to happen at the premier? why was Jenna acting the way she was? Is she trying to be friendly.. or more than friendly?
