Jade's POV
"Jesy, please-" a sigh fell from my lips, Jesy decided to walk straight by me, barely acknowledging me. We were leaving the studio around 7:00 this morning, about to head out to our corresponding flats. Leigh and Perrie were planning a movie night, which I most likely wouldn't be attending, I also strongly suspected that they were keeping me from Jesy due to our outburst on the plane last week. Now I've tried to apologize, honest, but Jesy is truly damn gifted when it comes to avoiding people like the bloody plague. No one really talked throughout the ride, I could feel Perrie's eyes on me at one point, it was hard not to look back at her.
"How much longer?" Leigh asked Mark finally, somewhat dissipating the tension in the air. But not completely, the guilt still potentially circled my gut. Why, just why in the name of biscuits did I have to bloody punch one of my best friends? Why? And how? I didn't normally snap like that, not at all. The thought alone scared me. "Ten minutes."
We all groaned, sulking in the seats. I began to play with my bandaged hand once more, yes, the hand I had used to... lash out at Jesy was the same one I had already hurt whilst hitting the tree in the park a little while ago, it was also the hand I'd grabbed a knife by the blade with to fight back...a while ago. Over time my hand healed, but I guess not completely because the swelling was pretty bad when the plane landed. Perrie insisted to have me keep ice on my hand all the while, so it didn't look as bad as it could've. I tried not to look at Jesy as best as I could, because even underneath a reasonable amount of makeup, the bruise still showed and it had been a week. Maybe if I hadn't gotten so fired up, maybe this wouldn't have happened. But it was what Jesy said that set me off. I could hardly believe my ears. I wasn't in complete fault for this dispute, and she knows it. She must, because those words came out of her mouth, not mine. I was so lost in thought I didn't notice Perrie tugging on me for a second, indicating that the car had arrived, I was relieved to know that we were back home. The hardest part of the day was over. Now I could sleep, shower and change, and hopefully be able to get out of this rut, out of this walled off headspace. Even if it was for a little while. My eyes were drooping painfully when I stepped out of the car, I thanked Mark and grabbed my things, sighing. I knew Jesy would stay at Perrie and I's flat today, it was guest bedroom day for me again at her and Leigh's. Without a word I followed Leigh up the steps from the garage, fighting to stay on my feet as the elevator went up to their floor. I forgot they lived in a loft some days, but the view that I'd see each time helped me understand why.
"C'mon, in." Leigh herded me inside once she saw my state. "Thanks." I answered quietly, setting my bag down and immediately headed over to the guest room. "Hey um. Did Perrie tell you about movie night?"
I nodded, stretching a little. "I'm going out actually, gotta give Jes some time, but thanks Leigh."
"Oh, are you sure?" She tipped her head in concern. "Yep. It'll be a nice change of environment for a mo. I hope you guys have fun though." I knew she was a little worried, but it was for the best. "Mhmm." She answered. "Leigh, I'm serious." I almost pouted with how tired I was. "Okay, if you really want to then. Just...take Kyle." She walked over, stopping in front of me. "He won't leave me alone, of course he's coming." I shrugged, hearing Leigh sigh and pull me into a hug.
"I worry because I care. I love you Jade, you know that right?"
How had she known that I needed a hug? I responded immediately, hugging her back. "I'm so sorry Leigh. For all of this. I'm a mess, I didn't think you'd want to be near me after what I did." I answered honestly. "Jay. You're a little sister to me, of course I'm here. I know you're having a rough time, but you're our mess, don't forget that, I wouldn't have it any other way alright?" She chuckled silently, dropping a kiss on my forehead, a motherly touch that I really didn't know I needed until now. "M'doin me best." I could feel the tiredness in my limbs now. "Good. Now off to bed pop." Leigh yawned, bringing me to the guest room. "Okay, love you too Leigh." I relaxed, letting myself surrender to the pillows and felt better already when my head met the pillows.
