Perrie's POV
"Bye guys! Don't be shy, just let us know if you'd care to meet up again." Jade handed over a slip of paper to the two girls Kayla and Abby. "You're serious? Bloody hell that's awesome." Kayla eyed the paper and then hugged us both, Abby followed suit. "Of course, goodnight girls, it was lovely seeing you again." I smiled up at the couple as they blushed and headed out the door hand in hand. Some fans had come up earlier to see us, more interested in seeing me but Jade had directed them away calmly. I hated having to withstand the fans, but she was right about us needing our space-besides, we were still going to have desert. And after that, we would go for a walk in the park. The mention of the park tugged at my brain, odd, but it was probably a sign of something important. But then something else came to my attention: my band mate had literally given the two girls our contact-which was private.
"Jade, wait, you gave them our contact?" I watched her smirking softly, her teeth caught her lip in a rather...interesting way. "Yeah Pez, I did." She agreed, sitting back down, trying to ignore the constant chatter around us. "But what if they-rat us out? The press could-" "The press can't do anything about it, and I trust them Perrie. I think that they are mature enough to understand our need for privacy; don't fret please. We are perfectly fine." Jade squeezed my hand gently before turning to the approaching waiter. If these girls are truly mature enough, I sure hope Jade knows what she's doing. I decided to not comment any further on the matter and enjoy the chocolate ice cream sitting in front of me. I practically forgot that Nando's is life while in the hospital. I felt delighted to be able to eat at my favorite place once more.
I was happier today, it was rather noticeable; although the encounter with Abby and Kayla left me remembering a few things-one being how happy I was, and how Jade's hand was on the small of my back and it felt nice. My gut was twisting around, sort of seeming to come off as butterflies that found their way inside my belly. So what if I'm supposed to be dating this amazing human being?
I...I liked the thought of her being with me, and the thought of being able to say that Jade's my girlfriend. It also wasn't a secret that the fans on Twitter and Instagram were in love with her too. She had pretty much stopped posting occasionally due to the overwhelming amount of mentions and questions that they would post.
I myself hadn't been online practically at all, but the memes that the girls would send in the group chat were something I didn't mind catching up on at all, the one time I retweeted a meme about her, the one time I decided to, the fandom lost it a little because they didn't know who was online. I got lucky, and that was also when I noticed how many fans, men and women both voiced their attraction to her in the thread of comments. After all, it's no secret, Jade Thirlwall is an absolutely gorgeous woman, from her face to her eyes, her smile, her personality and her petite self. But to know that she could have anybody-she could have absolutely taken her pick, and somehow, she decided to choose me. That had to mean something. I smiled at the thought of that, and as much as I got excited by it, I could tell something was still bothering her.
Ever since the meeting which removed the asshat from our presence, something had been up, and I had a strong feeling it had to do with the piece of paper she got from Annecka. "Jay?"
"Hm?"
"This is fun isn't it?" I asked, seeing her still seemingly zoned out, eating her ice cream. "Mhmm." She smiled a little, but she still fidgeted with the spoon in her hands. "I'd eat an entire distillery of the stuff, can I go rent one out?"
"Mhmm, anytime Pez." She nodded a little, I sighed and thumped her forehead. "Jade!"
"W-what?"
"You're distracted." I was a little disappointed, although I couldn't blame her. Yet she could always tell me why.
I didn't like the ease at which my bandmate could compartmentalize everything. It wasn't healthy. "I know I'm sorry Perrie. I'm just sick of not knowing when...I'm still figuring things out." She dropped her voice at the end. This had to be about the transfer slip. It had to.
"This is about Lucas isn't it?"
"What?"
"The slip."
She frowned and nodded, showing me her phone on the table. It was bold to discuss something confidential in an ice cream shop like this. I blinked in surprise when I didn't see anneckas name on the approval. "So she wants to know as much as we do." I knew what that meant. "This could be something big Perrie, bigger than just us. It could be about, but no. That couldn't be."
"What couldn't be?" I was proper worried now, seeing the petite Geordie rub her forehead, I could tell she was stressed. "This happened shortly after we started dating, and then when we started to expand to America. We were attacked first in New York. Someone didn't want us to go, the writers kept pushing us so hard after Salute, Jesy and Leigh-Anne were practically in a war with the producers for the get weird album." She sighed out, and that really was a lot.
