Isabel's POV
My alarm woke me up at 7:00 a.m. on a pleasant, warm, and sunny day. I got into the shower and washed hair, surprised that I even had time to straighten my hair. I then made some coffee because I can't start my day without it, and I served it with two slices of toasted bread with chicken, cheese and tomato to get my morning started.
At 9:30 I left for college, with blaring music, because I'm a morning person...well sometimes. However, the fact that there was so much traffic and I arrived at college at 12:40 instead of the scheduled time made me really angry and frustrated. I also became extremely anxious because it was my first day of college and I couldn't afford to be 2 hours late.
When I came late for my first day of college and informed the receptionist, "Hello, it is my first day of college and I arrived late, where should I go or what should I do?," she gave off a harsh expression and seemed really unhappy to be at work. "How can you be so late on your first day are you ignorant or something," the woman retorted angrily.
She said, "Come on, let's go; I'll take you to your class," as she looked down at the list. I'm relieved and happy since I was afraid they would have kicked me out.
I thanked the woman when I got to my class, she replied, "Yes whatever, now goodriddens."Given that she is so unpleasant, rude, and prone to irritation and annoyance, it doesn't seem likely that she and I will become friends any time soon.
As soon as the woman departed, everyone in the room just stared at me. I immediately felt overwhelmed with emotion, wanting to cry and piss my pants as if it were my first day of elementary school. Everyone went absolutely silent and just stared at me when the ms said, "Everyone this is Isabel," and I was like, "Oh god, what do I do now?" The Ms said "Isabel, tell them more about yourself". I was unsure of what to actually say to them. I had so much to say, but because of my shyness and anxiety, nothing came to me. I was actually standing there with my mouth agape and my eyes fixed on the people. Yes, it was embarrassing for me to stand in front of everyone and say nothing. The miss broke the silence, "Isabel, are you going to tell the people more about yourself or not?" to which I replied, "No, Miss, I'm not going to tell them anything about myself."
"Isabel, that's all right. Head over to the chair next to Richard Black. Richard, extend your hand so Isabel can see where you are." I searched the classroom and saw Richard sitting in the back of the class, "Thank you Miss", i said relieved and made my way to my seat, ready for this day to end.
