Type of poem: Bittersweet romance
Status: Wrote this when I was sleepy and inspired when I was googling stuff about space.
Title of poem:
I look at you like I look at the moonI look at you like I look at the moon
My eyes filled with admiration
Like the entire nationI look at you like I look at the moon
My eyes filled with curiosity
Wonder and amazementI could look at you all night
Even as time ticks by
I hope you are still there by my side
Up in the night sky
Emitting a soft glowEven if most of the world ignores your presence
As they sleep peacefully in their safe haven
I still look at you
Like you're the only thing that matters
Even if I'm in shattersLike a broken mirror
Broken beyond repairI'm supposed to hate myself
For falling for the moon
For falling for youBut you make me forget
How much I hate myselfYou make me forget how the dark the world can be
With your guiding light
Guiding me through the darkIn this lonely world of isolation
Yet this nation cannot understand
How marvelous you areTo me and those around you
That I can't stand the idea of losing you
In this world with a sad tuneI should compare you to the sun
So blinding and radiating
Filled with joy and life
Just like everyone else doesBut the sun isn't as beautiful as you
It's blinding light
Has so much might
Makes people look away
Not wanting to be blinded by the lightYet I don't
It has been used too much
So I compare you to the moonBecause your out of my reach
So I can only watch you from afar
As time moves onBecause like the moon,
You shine so bright
Even in the darkest of time
You guide me to the lightYou cause the world to become silent
As you walk by
Giving me a chance to listen to you
Listen the way your voice fills the voidYou treat me kindly
Letting me pour out my emotions in the dark
With no one to see, but youI look at you like I look at the moon
My eyes filled with love and admiration
Hoping that one day I could reach you
Hold you close and never let goI look at you like I look at the moon
Because ultimately, I will have to say goodbye
Knowing full well that moment of reaching you
Will never come true
As you move on and forget about me
As painful as it is, I too have to move onBut you'll always have a special place in my heart
Because I look at you like I look at the moon
Because I love the moon
Just like I love youTotal of words: 482
