Carl sighed into the phone, he squeezed it in between his head and shoulder.

The daycare was being shut down for all the missing kid reports, he overlooked them multiple times, there were six eight year old's that went missing.

"And you're allowing this!?!?" His partner yelled over the phone, anger clear in his voice.

"There's nothing we can do. The court is going to do it anyway, but they can also take down the company, and no company equals no other daycare buildings we can make!" Carl argued back.

His partner slammed the phone down, ending the call. Carl took a breath in and out, then put the phone back in its palace.

He continued scribbling down notes that his partner would fuss about not being able to read, he let out a chuckle.

There's was a knock at the door, "Can I come in?" it was his wife, her name was Sally, she was 'stuck' in the 80's through the 90's, but she started to try a new style in December.

"Yes. You can come in dear." Carl said as the door opened.

In the door frame stood his 5'7 wife in tall gray heels, she was wearing a white dress, that looked pretty tight, but her familiar blond curly hair still stayed fizzed behind her shoulders.

She looked at her husband straightforward and said, "Your partner called you. Says meet on East (- - - - ) road at seven o'clock sharp, he said that you guys can figure it out your problems there." She gave him a wide smile then left the room.

"Huh." Was all he replied with.

SEVENTEEN MINUTES LATER (6:50)

A knock was on door, "Pa?" A squeaky voice said from the side the door.

"Come in sweets." He watched as the door creaked opened, and his daughter stepped into the room.

Her ginger hair was nicely brushed and she was wearing her favorite Barbie pj's.

She looked at him with her big blue eyes and said, "Mama's busy, can you tuck me in?"He was about to ask a question when she answered for him, "she's making brownies!"

"Oh. Okay then." He said, getting up and heading towards the door.

His daughter took his hand and they exited the room, headed up a flight stairs then to her room.

Dene Brown was the decorator of his daughter room, and it looked like a 5th grader's girl dream room. Although she was only five.

His daughter claimed into her bed and shuffled into her pale pink sheets.

"Can you read a story?" She asked.

"Sure.." Carl hated children books, at the daycare there was robot that read the books, not a person.

Carl sighed and looked over the books; "Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed" by Eileen Christelow, "Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!" by Mo Willems, "The Rainbow Fish" by Marcus Pfister, "A Bad Case of Stripes" by David Shannon and many more.

"The Rainbow Fish! The Rainbow Fish!" His daughter's feet jumped up and down.

He picked up the book and looked it over before reading it aloud.

(don't worry a lot of lore is coming up!!)
