CHAPTER 1
STORGE

as you made your way towards the building that had been the focus of your tireless efforts, a magnificent spectacle unfolded before your very eyes: a resplendent, oversized ribbon of the brightest shade of yellow, carefully arranged and perfectly poised, gleaming in the afternoon sun— its vibrant hues beckoning you forward with a siren's call.

as the anticipation mounted to a fever pitch, you could sense a palpable energy coursing through the air like an electric current, charged with the excitement and joy of your colleagues who had gathered to witness this momentous occasion. their jubilant cheers reverberate through the streets and lifting your spirits to new heights. you could see their faces beaming with pride and admiration, their eyes fixed upon the massive pair of scissors that you held in your steady grip.

as the cheers began to fade and the noise subsided, you took a moment to simply stand still and take in the scene around you.

the grand entrance of the building that had been the focal point of your hard work was now open and inviting, beckoning you forward to explore the opportunities that lay ahead.

in the midst of the celebrations, your mind began to wander, casting back through the years to the experiences that had shaped your life and brought you to this point. memories flooded your thoughts, as you recalled the struggles and triumphs that had defined your journey.

you couldn't help but think of all the choices that had brought you to this point. some had been good— others bad— but each one had played a part in shaping the person you had become. you thought of the times when you had taken risks and succeeded beyond your wildest dreams, as well as the times when you had stumbled and fallen, only to get back up and try again.

your mind drifted back to the early days when you had first set out to pursue your dreams. you started out so little; so young. you could still remember the feeling of excitement and anticipation that had filled you as you distributed your own printed advertisements, with no graphic designer to assist you.

those fliers had been badly edited— with no real sense of design or style, but you had poured your heart and soul into them, believing that they would be the key to your success. and yet, as you handed them out to people on the street, you could see the skepticism in their eyes, as they accepted them with a polite smile, only to throw them away in disgust once you were out of sight.

the weight of your parents' expectations had always been a burden on your shoulders. the constant criticism for failing to complete college and the pressure to secure a job had left you feeling as though you were living your life on someone else's terms. and to make matters worse, your parents often compared you to successful people whom they did not even know personally, exacerbating your sense of failure.

this constant barrage of negativity had left you feeling lost and directionless, unsure of what your true purpose in life was. rather than pursuing your own dreams and passions— you found yourself simply going through the motions, following in the footsteps of others and never truly living for yourself.
