jungkook's body was trembling and his eyes were still closed. the exploding sound of the gunshot was still ringing in his ears even though the actual sound had long passed.

he gasped, his ears hurting from the sound of his own blood rushing through his veins. after what felt like an eternity he finally managed to open his eyes again.

the world around him seemed to have slowed down as he watched jimin fall to the ground in front of him. jungkook wanted to scream, he wanted to raise his gun and to shoot back at the policemen, but he couldn't.

all he could do was to fall on his knees besides jimin, his vision blurred by the tears filling his eyes, his body cold like stone.

jimin coughed as he looked at the wound in on his own chest. a small stream of blood was running down his naked skin, painting a red picture on the concrete floor.

"jimin," he whispered, his tears mixing with jimin's blood, creating an orangey color that looked exactly like the color the setting sun was painting on the sky. the whole scenery looked so unrealistic, so artsy and picturesque.

jimin gasped for air and his hands clung tightly to jungkook's shirt, "do you have a fucking death wish? why didn't you put your fucking hands up?"

jungkook's bottom lip was trembling as he connected both of their foreheads, "why did you do that?"

jimin grinned through the pain, "because i love you. because you deserve to live. promise me you will stop all this bullshit and live a happy life."

"n-no, don't make it sound like you're dying because you're not," jungkook cried, his arms wrapped around jimin's body that was as cold as his own.

jimin's body got weaker in his embrace and his eyes were clouded, as was the night sky.

"i love you too, jimin," jungkook whispered as their lips converged to a whole as if they were always meant to be like this.

all his optimistic hope seemed pathetic in this moment. why had he been so sure that both of them would get out of this shit together and live a happy life? he wasn't the hero he believed he would be by saving jimin, his love. his whole life he had just been a wanna be hero on a bridge that was burning down. it had just been a matter of time when the bridge beneath his feet would collapse.

he would die in vain, in the embrace of death who had waited long enough for him.

jungkook looked into jimin's eyes. these eyes that were so clouded that the sun would never shine inside them ever again. fate, he realized, had a habit of not letting them chose their own ending.

jimin's lifeless body slid down from his lap. jungkook's whole body was numb, he didn't feel a single thing, neither on the outside nor on the inside. it felt like everything he was living for had been taken away in the matter of only a few minutes.

he had never believed that jimin could change him, the man he was, the man as who he grew up to be, but jimin did. all he ever wanted was for the both of them to be together, to start a new life. but maybe in this world there was no place for their love? after all their love was just like a house of cards, doomed to collapse from the slightest wind gust, prone to fall apart.

it was a bit late for perception, as it seemed. pathetic, even.

a pair of hands grabbed jungkook's shoulders and pulled him away from his love's body violently.

"take him away," the police officer said. jungkook didn't do anything against it and just stared into the distance, silent tears still running down his face, his eyes empty.

another person stepped out from behind the shed, a person jungkook knew very well. the person grinned mischievously as he came closer.

"sorry, but you were posing a threat to out entire firm, i had to take action."

jungkook blinked as he looked at namjoon who had his arms crossed and couldn't stop smiling.

"y-you!," jungkook gasped quietly, trying to free himself from the police officer's grip.

namjoon winked and nodded in the direction behind jungkook, "good work."

jungkook turned his head just to see jackson nodding back at namjoon. when jackson saw jungkook looking at him he raised his hands to a defensive pose, "i was just in for the money."

"the three million," jungkook inwardly remarks bitterly when he thought back to the price that was sliced into jimin's chest, "jackson wanted the money and namjoon wanted me dead."

however, the policemen, who were probably bribed by namjoon didn't make a move to kill him but instead took him to the police car waiting in front of the building.

namjoon was walking besides him, his hands in his pockets, "you know, at first i wanted to have you dead but then i realized it would be so much more fun to take away everything from you and then let you suffer over the loss."

jungkook stumbled as the officer shoved him through the car door, "i will find you and i will kill you, all of you," he growled before the door closed and the last thing he saw was the grin on namjoon's face. he swore to himself that he would do everything necessary to send this man to hell.
