Tw: Mentions of death, blood.
Back to Y/n's POV
----------------------Maybe I was right about that good feeling I have. The dust around me settles as I bring my technical to a stop. Laying mangled before me is a large Hyperion shuttle. Metal bent all around.
Not only is it a really expensive looking ship, but it's also newly crashed, meaning I get first pick on all the non broken tech and any materials I may want. Suck it, random bandits! Me and my clan win!Good thing I brought my technical and not my runner. I can fit more. Oh yeah, survivors. They're a thing, I guess. Should probably look before the flames draw in any unwanted attention. I'd be able to beat away any psychos if it was just myself and my gear, but survivors add another layer of danger to it all.
I take a crouching position and observe the crushed corpse of a ship for movement....
...
Nothing. There's no signs of life as of right now. Once I'm further in there, there might be though. I swiftly move towards the inner areas. The door was stuck between being open and closed, so I smack the panel that would open it, and it slides mostly open. I suppose that's the best I'm going to get. It's more than enough room to get past though, so who am I to complain. Busted up tech surrounds me, and to my right, I spot the pilot. Poor guy didn't stand a chance, blood scattered across the front window. Or the remains of the front window, as quite a bit of it is missing.
They really hit the ground hard down here. I spin on my heel to start looting some of the good stuff. As I turn, I notice another person. He still seems rather bloodied up but he looks to be more alive than his pilot. Ah.. I'm going to have to take him in if he's breathing, aren't I?
I let out a sigh and unbuckle his seat belt. He flops onto me now that he's been released from the restraint.
"Oof, why're you so heavy?" I feel along his left wrist for a sign of a pulse, and unluckily for me, there is one. Shit. Well, suppose I should work quickly here. I turn and drag his arms to go over my shoulders and awkwardly pull him up. Don't get me wrong, I'm pretty damn strong, but I don't normally drag around dead weight like this. Seriously, what is the guy made out of?!His feet are being dragged behind us. I push him into the back seat of my technical and let his body lay across the entire seat. Let's hope I can grab some cool stuff and that this is actually worth the effort. I make quick steps back to the ship. I've got less time to work with now, so shits gotta be at least decent. I move past where the guy was sat and find a small compartment with what I can assume to be his luggage. I grab the suitcase and a medkit that sits beside it. That'll be good enough for him. Why waste my own supplies? He could be some stuck-up asshole. Probably is.
I chuck the items into the middle of the walkway, so I remember to pick them up and continue looking for anything of interest.-short timeskip-
A short holler outside catches my attention. Shit, bandits are here. I grab my last round of stuff to take back to my technical and high tail my ass out of there. I threw the last useful wires and tools I found into the back and hop into the drivers seat. The technical roared to life, which probably was heard by the bandits, but I could care less as I swerved around to head home. My baby is probably wondering where I am. I smile fondly to myself as thoughts of Eveline fill my mind while driving home. Not like the wastes have much to see anyway.
Just as long as I keep an eye out for random psychos hoping to rush at me with their crappy vehicles, I'll be fine. The sun has set at this point, and I should really think about getting back to Evie.I hear a slight groan behind me. He better not wake up, I can't guarantee he won't try to kill me. I'm better off taking him to my home rather than the Inferno. With an annoyed grunt, I make a rough turn to take us straight to my place. I really need to think of a name for it. Ive definitely thought about calling it a farm, but I feel like I'd need a bit more land. To do that, though, I'd need to destroy a few Hyperion camps without drawing the attention of their higher ups. Greedy bastards. Taking all the good land.
My crops come into view, so I slow the technical and drive up to the side of my house. Charlie rushes out to greet me as he usually does, barking happily. I spot a grinning Evie in the closest window and wave to her with a smile of my own. I signal her to come out of the house to help.
"DAD! I was so worried." She comes bounding up to me and hugs my waist tightly as Charlie jumps up to get pats from me. "I almost thought you weren't coming back."
"Oh come on, when I say things like that, I mean at least give me a whole day to get back. You ain't getting rid of me that easy, sweetie." I hold her hand as she lets go of me. "I need your help, though, kiddo. Someone's hurt, and I want to help him, but the Inferno is too far right now. Help me pull him into the house, yeah?"
She salutes and runs to the technical door, I unlock it for her, and she immediately grabs the guy's feet to start dragging him out. She's a dedicated worker, I'll give her that. I pull him further until his head is in front of me.
"Evie, hold on, darling." She stops her relentless pulling and looks up at me curiously. How have I not once looked at his face. How could I not realise that the hyperion logo was plastered all over that shuttle. Shit, shit, shit, shit. I've just drawn a giant red target on my own head. This is fucking Handsome Jack. My breathing picks up as panic sets in."Dad?" Evie's confused voice calls out to me, snapping me out of my panic filled mind. He still needs help. Evie doesn't need to know how evil this man is. She won't know how evil he is. Maybe, when he wakes up he'd understand she's just a kid. Should i even allow him to wa-? Yes. I'm Pandoran, maybe, but I'm not a monster, and I'll make sure he gets the proper care before leaving. He won't hurt Evie. I'll make sure of it.

Heeeeeyy. So i saw someone add some of my books to a list and wanted to say thank you for reminding me to write this. Bejeweled is a bit more difficult to write since I wanna get the speech right for the first few chaoters and its less freestyle. This however, i should be able to write a bit easier.
Life has been screwing me over repeatedly but I'd like to try and rediscover my love for writing through this. I have another AU story that I've been thinking about releasing. (Yes its a Jack story)Have a lovely day and also because I forgot to mention. [HAPPY NEW YEAR] ik im a month late and also consider this a laye valentines day gift :')
