You arrive in Pelican Town, and once you step out of the bus you are greeted by a red headed woman.
"Hello! You must be (Y/N)." She holds out her right hand. You shake it.
"That's me!" You let go and she introduces herself.
"I'm Robin, the local carpenter. Mayor Lewis sent me here to fetch you and show you the way to your new home. He's actually over there tidying things up for your arrival."
She walks to the right and motions you to follow her. "The farm's over here, if you'll follow me."
You follow the red head and the messy environment soon starts to reveal itself. This place is a dump.
"This is your farm!"
You stare in awe of the mess. You try to look past all the rubbish and think of the positives. At least you have a house and are free of the repetitive schedule of working with Joja.
Robin notices the odd look on your face.
"What's wrong?" She questions. "Sure, it's a bit overgrown, but it has some potential underneath all that garbage. Don't worry, you'll have it cleaned up in no time!"
Robin motions you to the entrance of your home. "... And here is your cabin!"
A short old man emerges from the beat up cabin with a bright smile on his face when he notices both you and Robin.
"Welcome! I'm Lewis, the Mayor Pelican Town." You shake hands. "Y'know, everyone's been talking about you. It's not every day that someone moves in. It's a big deal!" He looks at the the house. "So, you're moving into your old man's cottage, huh? It's nice, and rustic."
Robin interrupts.
"Rustic? That's one way to put it." She giggles. "Maybe you could stop by at my shop and I can fix it up for you." She teases.
"How rude, Robin!" Lewis exclaims, Robin snickers.
Robin and the Mayor bicker back and forth
While they're talking, you find yourself distracted by the huge mess of a farm that you have on your hands. You wonder how long it will take to clear out all of the rubbish.
"Anyways, you must be tired from traveling all this way. How about you get a good nights rest and you could introduce yourself to everyone in town tomorrow morning!"
You agree, Lewis and Robin then make their way; leaving you alone.
You walk up the stairs of your cabin, every step you take it makes an ominous creek noise. You open the door and immediately run to the bed and fall asleep.
The next day
You wake up and step out of bed, the floor creeks with every step you take. All the way to the TV, where you check tomorrow's weather, and you watch a cooking show.
You turn off the TV and turn to the entrance of your house. There's a box. You open it. It's parsnip seeds! Now you have something to work with. You clear out a part of your farm and plant the seeds.
Once you're finished you decide to take the Mayors advice and head to town to introduce yourself to everyone else.
You notice a pathway to your right you follow it, hoping it's a faster way to get there. It leads you to a big house, you enter it. There's Robin at the front desk.
"Hey (Y/N)! Glad you found my shop! If you ever need something built you can just stop by here."
"Thanks Robin! I was actually just taking a different route from my farm, and it lead me here. Is the town just further down?" You ask.
She nods. You thank her and make your way to exit the house. As you turn the doorknob Robin stops you.
"Oh wait, (Y/N)! Since you're already here you should meet my family!"
"Oh yeah! Good idea."
"Follow me!"
She introduces you to her husband, Demetrius, and her daughter, Maru.
She then takes you to the stairway of her basement.
"Okay, next is my oldest. He's actually around your age." You both make your way down stairs. She opens the door. "Sebby! The new farmer is here, I want you to meet him!"
There's no response. You both walk further in and realize no one's there. "Agh, damn it." She places her hand on her forehead in disappointment. "I'm sorry. He's always out doing god knows what."
You reassure her. "Don't worry Robin. I'll eventually meet him. There's no rush."
"Yeah, you're right. Alright then, you better get on your way if you want to meet everyone by the end of today!"
You agree and make your way out of her house. You walk out and are immediately met with a man with
dark eyes and hair. He's around the same height as you.You both stare at each other for a hot second. He then looks you up and down. You're flustered.
He's exactly your type.
"You must be the new farmer that moved here from the city right? Cool."
"Um, Yeah." You say, a bit flustered. "The name's (Y/N)." You hold your right hand out and he shakes it. His hands are cold, but you don't mind. It's actually quite refreshing.
"Sebastian." He say's, avoiding eye contact. You let go of his hand. You notice he's holding something.
"What's that?"
"Oh this? It's just some weird rocks that I gathered from the mines."
"Weird? They look pretty cool."
"I guess, but I was looking for some frozen tears. I'm not equipped enough to go down that far for them." He sighs.
"Y'know," You place your hand on your neck. Embarrassed to even propose this idea. "I'm probably going down to the mines tomorrow, so if I see any, I'll make sure to bring it back for you."
He looks at you.
"Really?" He asks, now making eye contact with you.
You look back, flustered. Your face is beet red.
"Yeah, definitely." You smile.
"Okay, I guess I'll see you around, then." He smiles back.
"Bye." You say as he enters Robins house.
You place your hand over your mouth, your face is still very red.
'Agh! Let's just meet the rest.' You think to yourself.
You start for the path down town to introduce yourself to the rest of the city folk.
