Sam had just had his car for a few days but relished the newfound freedom. He almost burned through two tanks of gas in those days. He and you had done half the city for driving practice. You loved that you no longer had to catch a ride with Trent. +

Somehow Sam had managed to convince you to tag along with him to a lake party. At first, you were insistent on not going since you needed to help around the shop that afternoon, but after, one of your buddies that worked with you overheard the conversation and decided to insist on covering for you. +

Two days later, you were sitting in bed and tinkering with a radio you were trying to fix up. You finally got it working again when your phone started ringing and you picked it up. +

"Yea?" You asked, continuing to tinker whilst holding the phone to your ear with your shoulder. +

"You're still coming, right? You better not be bailing me." Sam was interrogated from the other side of the line. +

"Sadly. But yes, I am still coming." You responded. +

"Good, because I'm five minutes away," Sam said before hanging up on you. +

"Goddamnit, Sam.." You muttered, getting up to race to your closet. You quickly changed into something comfortable and a cooler to help with the scorching summer heat rolling in. +

You heard a honk from outside your house, which made you huff and grab your bag, walking to the front of your yard where Sam was parked. You popped the door open and hopped in to greet him. +

Sam pulled away, driving out of your little neighborhood. The two of you exchanged your pleasantries, and Sam started rambling again about his car and what he wanted to invest in fixing it up. +

After a little while of his driving and talking, you noticed that you weren't headed toward the lake. +

"Sam?" +

"Yeah?" +

"Where are we heading?" You asked. +

"I may or may not have invited Miles with us for him to be my wingman," Sam confessed. +

"You fucker! You know I hate that creep!" You scolded loudly. +

"I know, I know! I'm sorry ok!" Sam said, using puppy dog eyes on you to try to calm your annoyance. +

"Also, why the hell do you need a wingman? Am I not supportive enough?" You asked accusingly. +

"It's so not like that; I need another dude to help me get chicks." Sam tried to explain. +

"That dude wouldn't know anything about how to get chicks. He's a fucking virgin." You argued. +

"Ok, I'm sorry. I want to hang out with him. Sorry I'm making you uncomfortable. I'll try to talk to him about your boundaries to see if he'll listen. +
