Only one thought went through Morian's mind as he walked down the dark blue and white tiled hallways.God I fucking hate school
The place he was administered to was more of an asylum than anything. He had forgotten how it was like to actually communicate to normal fully functioning humans with morals.
And god he couldn't even begin to fathom how it would be to introduce himself with the horrendous reputation he was currently sporting. Walking out the car and getting stared at like a caged animal didn't give the best ideas of how this school year was going to operate for him.
Morian pushed his thoughts aside as he reached the entrance of his first period class and walked in.
The class consisted of 20 desks in 4 rows, and smelled of chemicals and air freshener. There was a large window on the first wall that let out the faintest light that barely managed to brighten the room. The teacher's desk, which was facing horizontally to the window, was clean and sleek with wood polish. There were about 4 kids in the class, getting their supplies ready for use or napping their time away.
Morian went into the very back of the class and sat at the first seat in the last row. He looked around the classroom confused by the lack of students in the class. There was only 3 minutes left before the tardy bell rang.
With only one minute left on the clock people started flooding in and choosing their seats. The silence was quickly replaced with the loud banter of teenagers. Even as the teacher walked in the loudness continued.
The teacher, Mr.Quin, winced upon entering and held his head "Okay everyone, quiet down, I understand that it's the first day of school but I'm still hungover so give it a few minutes okay?"
Morian raised an eyebrow. Who the hell drinks on the night before school? This teacher, apparently.
As the hungover teacher settled down in his chair he brought out his laptop and became fully indulged on whatever was playing on his device.
Normal first-day-of-school etiquette
Morian instantly knew that this teacher was going to become one of, if not, the most favorite teacher of his for the rest of the year.
He pulled out his phone and entered in his pin. He thought that he could use this time to catch up with the rest of the things he missed out on. That was until he noticed a group of girls looking in his direction and whispering, well, trying too at least.
He pretended to ignore them and their very loud whispering and thought that after a few minutes they would find something more exciting to gossip about. But nothing more was exciting as his tragic freshman year.
He heard foot steps walking towards him and panicked. He tried to look as busy as possible and looked for his ear buds but they were nowhere to be found.
Fuck!
"Hey" Morian looked up to find the owner of the voice that called out to him and saw not one but two girls staring back.
"Hi."
"Are you the guy that-"
The second girl's eyes popped out of her skull and she quickly covered the other girl's mouth "Hazel! Stop! We were going to ask for his number remember?" She half yelled/whispered. She almost tore the other girl's mouth the way she was clutching it.
Hazel's eyebrows bunched together and forceful took the girl's hand off her mouth. "My bad sheesh"
The girl looked back at Morian with remorse "Sorry about her she doesn't exactly have a filter"
Morian sheepishly looked back at his phone and nodded. Not wanting to participate in the conversation.
She began to fidget and looked back awkwardly to her friends who were snickering to themselves like a pack of hyenas.
In a quiet voice she asked him if she could have his number.
Morian looked back at her and quirked his head "why?"
The girl began to blush and looked bashfully at her feet. "Well I don't really know why it was my friends who dared me to go up to you."
Morian wasn't exactly surprised, she didn't exactly look very comfortable when approaching him so he naturally assumed she was forced to.
He looked back at the girls and back at her. "You can have my number if you want" he replied.
Her head shot up and her eyebrows raised "no it's fine you don't have to"
Morian smiled at how expressive her face was and grabbed a peice of paper from his binder. He began to write his number onto the paper when she asked him "what are you doing?"
"What do you think?"
She flushed again "you seriously don't have to."
He handed the piece of paper to her and rolled his eyes "It's fine I need some friends anyways"
She hesitantly took the paper and walked back to her table.
Maybe this year might not be as bad as he thought it would be.
If only he knew.
