ALICIA woke up before Joe the next morning.

Her eyes fluttered open and she furrowed her eyebrows when she realized she wasn't in her room. Then, she looked up and saw Joe's sleeping face.

She sat up, feeling confused.

Why was she in Joe's room? What happened last night? Did they have sex? What about Jace?

Her eyes then went wide.

What about Jace?

"Shit." Alicia muttered.

"Lici?" Joe whispered in a husky voice.

She looked over at him and he opened his gorgeous blue-green eyes.

Those, along with his gorgeous smile, was her weakness. And now so was his morning voice.

"What happened last night?" She asked.

Joe sat up next to her.

"Well, I left the club early because Ja'Marr kinda pissed me off and then I came home and just lied here. Then before I knew it, it was like two in the morning and I heard someone come upstairs and go into the bathroom and then I found you throwing up, so I held your hair back and comforted you. And then I gave you clean clothes to change into and you...stripped in front of me and changed, then we went to bed together." Joe explained.

Alicia let out a breath and put her face in her hands.

"Oh God, Joe, I am so sorry. That's so embarrassing." Alicia replied.

"Hey, no, don't be embarrassed. It wasn't a big deal." Joe shrugged.

Alicia looked over at him.

"Yeah, but that means you saw me—."

Joe grabbed her hand. "Alicia. It's okay. I told you that it's not a big deal. We're best friends it's not like we weren't gonna see stuff like that anyway."

"No, Joe, you saw me. I...I didn't want anyone to see me because...because I don't like me." Alicia replied.

"Oh, Alicia, you are beautiful. Your body is so beautiful. Everything about you is so beautiful. You don't ever have to be ashamed." Joe replied.

Alicia looked up at him and he was looking down at her.

She reached up and their faces were inches apart.

Their lips brushed against each other, but Joe put his head down.

"Alicia. We can't." Joe muttered.

Alicia was about to nod and be okay with that, but how could she? How could she be okay with him just shutting her out like this?

"And why not?" Alicia asked.

"What?" Joe furrowed his eyebrows.

"Why can't we?" Alicia raised her eyebrows.

"Because you like Jace." Joe murmured and scratched the back of his neck.

"Fuck Jace! I never really wanted him, I've always wanted you! Why can't we? Why not? What's so bad about it?" Alicia asked.

"You wanna know why? Because if we date and break up, I lose you. I lose everything. You are everything to me, Alicia Johnson, and I can't imagine losing you over a stupid relationship! It's not worth loving you. I'd rather risk not loving you than losing you altogether!" Joe exclaimed.

"It's not worth loving me?" Alicia whispered.

Joe shook his head. "No, Lici, I didn't mean it like that. I didn't mean it like that at all. I meant—."

"No, it's okay." Alicia said and stood up. "I guess I'm just not worthy of your love."

"Alicia, that's not what I meant at all!" He exclaimed.

"Whatever. Go date Olivia." Alicia said and stormed out of the room.

"Alicia!" Joe called.

Alicia ran downstairs and to the door.

"Good morning, Alicia!" Olivia called.

"Joe's looking for you." Alicia turned up her nose.

She then put a pair of shoes on, grabbed her keys and left the house.

She made her way to her car that was in the driveway. She got in and started the car, but turn a wave of some type of strong emotion hit her.

She put her head against the steering wheel and began crying.

She sobbed and banged on the steering wheel.

Why couldn't she be enough for Joe?
