The sun shined through the window, crickets chirping, birds singing, and the sweet smell of freshly cut grass was in the air. On days like these, you would normally be happy, going to school, seeing your friends friend, and all that other normal stuff.
But, you weren't.
You rose from the large blanket cocoon you had enveloped yourself in that night, moving to the window, the light brightening up your features, before being cut off as you shut the curtains.
"Y/N! GET DOWN HERE! YOU'RE GOING TO BE LATE FOR SKOOL!" You sighed, wrapping your arms around yourself before furrowing your brows and plopping yourself onto the bed.
You heard the familiar thudding footsteps and sighed, wrapping yourself in your blankets again.
You heard the door open, and could feel as the lights were flicked on. The short figure made his way to the side of your bed, leaning in close to where he thought your head was, and whispering, "It's time to get up."
You growled slightly, he always did that. He probably knew that you hated it, that's why he does it. You hated it when he whispered to you like that, it was annoying.
"Go away, Korbyn. I'm not going to school today," You grumbled, turning to the other side of your bed. He groaned and attempted to pull the blankets off of you, you held your grip tight on the things that kept you warm.
"But you have to get up! Mommy says you need to go to school!" He said, still trying to pull the blankets off. You pushed him back, harder than you meant to, and suddenly felt a weight on top of your midsection.
You were about to push the six-year-old off of you, before a small fist came into contact with your temple. Although it was slightly cushioned from the blanket, it still hurt a bit.
"What The FfffF- Heck! Get Out Of My Room!" You yelled getting up and grasping the kicking and punching child as best you could. You shoved him out of the door and closed it, he opened it and you pushed against the door, easily shutting it on him.
Your victory was quite shortlived when you felt a weight much stronger than his try and open the door. You backed away as quickly as you could, your gaze immediately making its way to the ground.
"What The Hell, Y/N?! Your brother walks into your room, and the first thing you do it Yell At Him?!" She yelled, you didn't want to look at her face, too scared to do anything. "Jesus Christ! I Told Him To Come In Here And Get You!"
"..."
"Say something, you obviously have something to say, so say it." She said, her words full of venom. You could feel the tears starting to peak through, but took a deep breath and willed them away.
"He punched me." You said softly, crossing your arms on your chest, slightly scratching at something under your sleeve.
"Oh, come on, Y/N! He's Six! A Punch From Him Is Nothing! Why Can't You Just Grow Up!" She yelled, you could imagine her face, eyes wide with anger, frown embedded onto her lips like it was chiseled there.
"I- I-, I don't feel good. Can I not go to Skool today?" You asked, a headache starting to form because of the yelling. Although, you should be used to it by now.
"Jesus christ, Y/N! You haven't been to Skool for a week now! If You Don't Go Back, You'll Be Held Back." She said, her hands moving to her hips. You sighed internally, slowly looking up from the floor to meet her eyes, nothing but seething, red-hot, anger.
"Please Mother?" You pleaded, your voice soft. She rolled her eyes and stomped out of the room, Korbyn following her, before he turned around the corner, he stuck his tongue out at you.
