"What was I thinking?" I mumbled to myself as I walked to the bathroom mirror. I untied my apron and pulled it away from my body. Why would he want to take me out for dinner? Maybe I was just overthinking it. I was looking too deep into something which was simple.

He was being nice.

I went toilet, washed my hands, tidied my hair and walked out. He wasn't here anymore so I assumed he was waiting outside and closed up the restaurant. I was locking the key when I heard the sound of a lighter. "You smoke?" He asked, lighting the cigar between his lips. I pulled the key out of the lock and shoved it into my pocket.

"No." I lied.

"Huh." He scoffed, smoking it. "Come on." He began walking into the darkness and I followed quickly behind him. His car must've been parked down the street. "You're allowed to ask me five questions." He suddenly said, breaking the silence.

"Why just five?" I asked, and he looked at me.

"Is that a question?" He asks, glancing down at me with amusement in his eyes. I ignored him and looked ahead. "Your father owns a beautiful restaurant, Rose." He said, stopping at the black porsche. "Thanks." I said, and he opened the door for me.

I hesitated so he grabbed the edge of the door and leaned closer towards me. "Get in." he lowered his voice and I looked up at him. "I am." was all I said before sitting. He shut the door and I glanced around. Nope, nothing he could use to kill me with except his bare hands-

The car smelt heavenly, like him.

"Did you want to take over after your father?" I asked him.

He turned on the engine with a smile on his face. "Don't you need a pen and paper?" he teased. I didnt respond and he pulled onto the main road. "I had no dreams, my only goals were to become like my father, successful- which I am." he replied. "no dreams?" I repeated.

"What about you?" he then said.

"What about me?"

"I don't believe your dream was to work in your fathers restaurant." he gave me a quick glance before looking back at the road. "I stopped dreaming a while ago, when my mother died." I told him, "but I'm going to own the restuarant some day and change it up."

"You have goals." he said.

"I do- where are you taking us?" I then asked, looking out the window. He continued driving for a few more minutes before pulling up to a mini street food shop. The sign had bright lights for letters and looked like it was the only one open on the entire street. He opened his door and walked around the car to open mine.

"I never saw you as a type to eat here." I said as we walked in. "I'm tired of eating expensive seafood and dry bread." he answered.

We sat at a mini table and he ordered the food.

He asked me more about wanting to own my dad's business one day and I asked him about his life as CEO. When the food came I couldnt help but smile at how he ate. He put a spoon of rice in his mouth and looked up at me. "I'm sorry for what I said to you in your office that day." I said.

"I liked it." he answered. "No one has ever spoken to me in such a blunt way before."

I shook my head. "I read a few articles and assumed I knew everything about you." I laughed, nervously.
