Anyways enjoy the story <3

Fen's POV:
"FEN! WAKE UP!! IF YOU DON'T YOU'LL BE LATE!"

"Fiiiiine, I'm coming..."

My groggy morning voice drifted downstairs to my mum, who I could hear bustling around noisily in the kitchen, probably making breakfast.

I climbed out of bed, grumbling.

'How DARE it be morning....' I thought, putting on my slippers and shuffling over to my wardrobe, where I pulled out my uniform and laid it on my bed. Still annoyed and tired, I got dressed, blinking the remaining traces of sleep out of my bleary eyes.

"BYE!!!" My mum yelled up the stairs, rushing to her car and slamming the door shut behind her, cutting me off before I got to say goodbye.

Timeskip bc im lazy 💅🏻
I walked downstairs and into the kitchen that was filled with the delicious scent of pancakes. My eyes lit up as I saw a plate of pancakes drizzled with honey waiting for me at the table, still warm.
I sat down and ate, relishing the warm sunshine streaming through the window. As I ran a comb through my hair, I wondered when Sophie would turn up. She was usually here by now. Dismissing it as her just oversleeping or something, I continued with getting ready.

Yet another timeskip oof
I stepped outside, heading to school, but then I hesitated, remembering to call Sophie to remind her to meet up with me at the gate.
As the call was running I spammed her with texts to no avail, the call just went to voicemail.
I gave up and returned my phone to my bag and continued walking, taking in the things around me.

timeskip✨ ye ik im lazy
I got to the gate, rolling my eyes at the people messing around and being super loud. Suddenly, the unpleasant smell of cigarette smoke crept into my nostrils, and I started coughing somewhat violently. As I got my coughing fit under control, I looked up and saw one of those annoying cringe Year 11s smoking on the other side of the road. Marvelling at how stupid he must be to smoke basically right outside the school gates, I walked in, looking for Sophie, but she was nowhere to be seen.

Just as I was about to go in, I heard snickering, and I looked around, and these girls that always made fun of me were pointing at me and laughing.
My heart rate crept up as I heard what they were saying:
"Snowflake."
'Yeah she should just go die, it's not like anyone but her bitch friend would miss her anyway."

My eyes stung and threatened to spill tears and my will to be at school plummeted. I hated all of those girls so much, they always misgendered and deadnamed me and threw queerphobic slurs at me ever since I came out as non-binary. I never really did anything about it, not wanting to cause drama. Blinking back the tears, I sped up and headed to class, wishing Sophie was here.

The day dragged on in a blur of dull lessons, annoying people and background noise. I tapped my fingers on the desk impatiently, desperately wishing I was walking back from school with Sophie already.

Finally, the class was dismissed. I bounded over to the door, and speed-walked to the gate, eager to get home.

As I plodded down the familar route home, I got a brainwave to make a detour to Sophie's house to see why she hadn't come to school today. As I neared her house, I was already planning my rant about the irritating chavs at our school. When I got to her street, I sped up, eager to see her.

When I got there, I rapped on the door, peeking through the glass. Nobody answered, so I knocked again. But I heard someone odd. It sounded like....crying? Sure enough, among the sounds of footsteps, there were sobs.

Worry gnawing at my stomach, I stepped back a little to allow the door to open. As it creaked open, Avery, Sophie's mum, peeked a puffy, tear-stained face out.

"Fen, is that you?"
"Yeah, just me. What's wrong? Where's Sophie? She wasn't at school today." I say, the anxiety in the pit of my stomach growing as I eye her bloodshot, teary eyes.

"Sophie...Sophie's gone missing. The police are coming soon to ask q-questions..."
